Mangalayatan University B.Pharm Review By Smriti Singh

I completed my bachelors from this university last year and my experience was splendid. I chose this specific university because one of the alumni was my friend's elder brother who has a stable career and he gave me valuable insights of university that intrigued me. The university has some shortcomings but the positive sides were more than those shortcomings.

I pursued Bachelor of Pharmacy from this university. Taking admission in the university was not that challenging as they don't have any entrance tests. They just take interview of the student and go through the educational history of the student. I enrolled in this course because I wanted to build career in Pharmacy and this university is one of the best to pursue for the bachelor's degree in Pharmacy as they have two different PCI approved departments of Pharmacy in the campus. They also provide scholarship to the students on the basis of high school percentage and CGPA.

The faculty members of my department were the most supportive ones. They guided me through my education really well, while providing all the support that they can from their side. Though, all the faculty members were new but that didn't make any difference. All the faculty members were Ph.D degree holders and all of them had distinct style of teaching which mostly worked for me.

Yes, there is a placement cell in the university, but I personally was not satisfied with the placement facilities provided by the university. In case of pharmacy department, most of the companies were offering marketing jobs that are not suitable for everybody. I have heard that placement for B.Tech students was good and many of my friends were satisfied. All in all, they can improve this facility by bringing more companies for the students.

Yes, I lived in the campus hostel and that experience was one of the best during my college life. There is separate building for both boys and girls, where boys are strictly restricted in girl’s hostel, which provided sense of security to the parents. They provide really safe environment for hostlers. Food in the mess was also very good as they made sure to provide nutritious food. One of the best things about hostel facilities was that they conduct multiple events including the sports competition for games like badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc.

Infrastructure is another thing that they need to pay attention on. In past, they had distinct blocks for each course but as there are many new courses, they have been trying fitting them in the existing buildings. They have a big central library that is open for the hostlers all the time. Apart from this central library, each department also has its own separate libraries. There is also a hospital in the campus for local population and the medical students of university. All in all, managements need to utilize their land and enhance the quality of campus.

Campus life in university is very satisfactory. Different kinds of fests are celebrated in the university. These fests include academic fests, cultural fests and more. One of the major highlight of this university is the cultural fest that is conducted in very two years. This fest is mainly known as "Atharva", which takes place for 7 days. This fest included sports competitions, quizzes, and many other competitions. But these fests never hinder with the academic environment of the campus. If I have to rate the quality of crowd, then local students sometime dominate the outside students but it has been improving with time.
