IIFT Kakinada organises an inter college national level fest "RIQUEZA"

IIFT Kakinada was established in the year 2022 with the interest of Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitaram under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. IIFT Kakinada is the best place to be for those aspiring to pursue IPM due to its offering of a specialised IPM i.e., BBA Business Analytics and MBA International Business. I'm a sophomore and I've had the most wonderful experience here.

Integrated Program in Management is a five-year program in management that allows students to purse BBA and MBA without having to give the Common Aptitude Test. One needs to appear for the IPMAT Indore exam in order to apply for IIFT Kakinada's IPM program. IPM offers students the opportunity to learn in Tier-1 colleges with the peers across the country giving them the much needed exposure that can better prepare them for their higher studies. For me, the corporate world has always been a source of motivation and inspiration to be determined in one's life where I actively have the opportunity to contribute back to the society through my knowledge and by helping innovators conceptualize their ideas and introduce it to the world.

Our in-house faculties are professors from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Delhi itself. Our faculties have also published several research papers in various internationally and nationally recognised journals. With numerous years of teaching experience, their teaching pedagogy is the best available with a focus on high quality student-professor interaction, real-life and HBR case study discussion along with other assignments and projects. We also have guest faculties from renowned institutes such as Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad, National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh, Central University of Andhra Pradesh, etc.

Our first batch will only graduate in 2027, but given the prestige and legacy that IIFT itself has earmarked for itself across the years for its exceptional quality a student can very-well expect industry standard placements equivalent to several other IIMs. We do have a placement cell which is responsible in conducting career-enhancing webinars as well as in bringing internship opportunities with key industry players such as the Tata Steel Industry.

IPM at IIFT Kakinada is fully residential program. We have a well built-and facilitated hostel roughly 2.3 km away from the campus. The hostels are air conditioned and are built on apartment system, where each floor has 2 apartments with 4 rooms each having 2 occupants each. High-speed internet connections (5G), table, chair, bed and laundry facility are provided to the hostellers. We also have space for recreational activities such as table tennis, chess etc.

Currently we are located in our temporary campus at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. We expect our permanent campus to ready in another 2 years, but despite this our temporary campus has fully air conditioned classrooms with projector and interactive touch screen smart boards, air conditioned student activity room, air conditioned meeting room and a fully air conditioned library with access to multiple internationally published textbooks, references, and e-journals from leading publications and knowledge organisations.

Like I said, despite the drawback of not having a permanent campus, of course there shall be the absence of the experience one might otherwise get in a normal college with an established campus. But nevertheless, we try to make the best use of our existing facilities. We have chapters of international organisations such as GAEE, 180DC, FMA, and GirlUp running successfully. We also have numerous other student run and established clubs such as sports, cultural, hostel and mess, debate, literary, performing arts, etc. We host quarterly intra sports fest called Aikyam covering badminton, football, volleyball and cricket. We also host our very own inter college national level fest, RIQUEZA which has already conducted 2 successful editions over multiple domains. RIQUEZA also allows us to gain hands on experience in various departments such as marketing, outreach, coordination, communication design, ideation, strategy, finance, student and corporate relations. We have also over the past 2 years participated in multiple B-school competitions gaining achievements at national and international level. Given the fact that we are only 2 batches as of now, we try to make the best days of our college life by celebrating every little occasion and festival heartily.
