Banasthali means business and that is why they have made this strict rule so that we don’t roam around but make most of our college years. Working hard in this phase can shape one’s future and that is why hard work and struggle was at peak at Banasthali. University has a special heritage of PMS (Panch Mukhi Shiksha) and that make compulsory for every girl to be associated with some or the other activity. Apart from degree small certificate courses on entertainment like dance and music are available at the campus. Girls from all part of India come here for studies and therefore university celebrates each and every festival of India. You will never miss any of your festival no matter which part of India you belong from.

Academic was the strictest part as not just syllabus but we were taught many other things as well. BBA was not that a lengthy course and we all girls were advised to enroll in maximum clubs that we can. There was also a flying club where we had the opportunity to get a student pilot license after completing 200 hours of flying training. 6 hours of classes and course divided in six semesters. The University gave us assignments and some group study materials so that we could learn team work. It was awe-inspiring how the university was so keen on making students study more than their potential. Some students ignored all this as getting a degree was their whole purpose.

Faculties also had to follow many strict protocols just like the students. Every department had their own HODs and they would have insiders to take report on the faculty members. Faculty though weren’t that great if I look at them from what I saw in my other college. Some of them rather looked irritated with all the rules in place.

Rajasthan still being a work in progress and placements for BBA department were not that great. Learning wise the university is great but to get a good job masters is must as for masters many good companies came and hired girls who had the ability to bring something to the table. Placement department therefore to me is still a work in progress.

To stay at Banasthali Vidyapith’s hostels, you should go through the point that I am mentioning. You will have to stay with two or maybe three girls and should have respect for your room mates. You should learn managing time as bathrooms are shared. Mess operates timely and here again you have to learn time management because they are quite strict with their timings. You are only allowed to wear suits outside your room. You can take all this positively or negatively but the atmosphere inside the hostel was good as I have stayed there for all three years and had never missed my family or friends.

The campus is sizeable and sizeable accounts to a campus of almost 900 acres. There are numerous academic blocks, hostels, and other buildings that account to over 100 for sure. The university is around 80 kms from the Jaipur city and therefore the university has made all small and big things available for us inside the campus. Since it’s an all-girls university, medical store, stationery shop and all were inside the campus itself. The infrastructure was not that extravagant and there are some demerit points as well. Firstly, the location as it’s too far and secondly the university still hasn’t digitized much. There were many new buildings coming up as there are sporting facilities but outdated. The basketball court had more cracks than a flat surface. The swimming pool was hardly maintained. The labs lacked latest technologies and even the college gates are not automated. Facilities galore but little outdated. Hardly any outings happened as we stayed inside those walls for the entire semesters. The university had everything in place from library, hostels, to everything but transformation is the need of the hour.

Western clothing is prohibited in the campus and we had to wear a Kurta always. Rather than teaching girls what to wear, I guess people should learn to become compassionate. This is going on for years but I hope that the time will change. The management was too rude and even an application for leave took ages to proceed. Enough of negatives and talking about positives, we used to have events as when the students wanted. Festivity inside the campus was highly visible and that was the reason of our survival at such a strict campus. One of the worst rules is that girls can’t go out of the campus without prior permission. This rule is for all the girls whether they are in sophomore year or pursuing PhD.
