Malaviya National Institute of Technology MBA Review By Rajat Agarwal

I passed MBA in the finance domain from MNIT Jaipur in 2023. These 2 years have been a building block for my professional career as a consultant. I came across this course while I was preparing for my MBA entrance exam and one of my friends suggested this institute. Many people are unaware of the fact that apart from providing technical courses MNIT also provides management courses and this was a discovery for me as well. It has a 2-tier selection process. Firstly, score in an aptitude test that could be MAT, CAT or CMAT, cutoffs vary every year. Secondly, an interview by the college faculty. Selection process is then followed through counseling at the institute and on-boarding event.

The course is of 2 years, divided into 4 semesters. 1st semester is general and whole batch attends together. In 2nd semester, choices of stream are made and students attend classes accordingly. For admission, you need bachelors from any recognised college with minimum 55%, then test score, followed by interview and counseling.

Faculty here is brilliant. All our professors hold doctorate in their respective fields and pursued it from premium institutes like IITs and IIMs. They possess great teaching attributes and inculcate the joy of learning in students. Some of the faculty members have worked in industry as well that helps us academically and professionally. I personally ask doubt even now and they are always ready to help.

Placement opportunities here are quite good in respect to the ROI. Our batch's average placement stood at 8 LPA and highest went to 16 LPA. Companies like ArcelorMittal, Federal Bank, IDBI Bank, Crowe LLP, TATA AIG, and Evosys Mastek visit the campus. The companies belong to various industries ranging from banking, consulting, insurance etc. They hire for roles related to consultant, data analyst, banker, and sales, etc.

I did not opt for hostel so I can’t add much here. But all I heard from my friends was that the facilities are good.

Infrastructure is fantastic and at par with the leading NITs. MNIT itself is one of the oldest and most prestigious NITs. Though MBA department lacks a bit here and there, but the quality of education that it imparts make up for it. We have VLTC, which is one of the largest lecture theater complex in Asia and some classes were held there as well. Overall, the infrastructure is quite decent.

Campus is very beautiful and the students have access to all the sports facilities, lecture theaters, clubs and fests that happen across the departments and at central level. ‘Blitschags’ is the annual fest that is highly coveted. Students have various avenues to express their talents in the inter and intra-departmental activities that happen all year round.
