Rajagiri College of Social Sciences offers a wide variety of bachelor degree courses such as B.Com, B.Sc. Psychology, BBA, and more. There are numerous courses for postgraduate students as well. The institute prioritizes academics, research studies and a clean and green campus. I studied B.Sc. Psychology at Rajagiri and was pleased with the three years I spent there. The college was awarded the NAAC accreditation of A++ grade in 2021 with a CGPA of 3.83. It has also been ranked as the 20th best college in India by NIRF 2024. The professors are very knowledgeable and helpful. The library facilities are top-notch. There are four floors well-stocked with numerous publications and a seating capacity of three hundred and more. Students at Rajagiri also have access to various databases online which immensely helps with research studies. Rajagiri is definitely the place to be if you are interested in research and building your career.

The college offers a number of degree courses for undergraduates, postgraduates and Ph.D scholars with a focus on the social sciences. To enroll to these programs, one must meet the eligibility criteria which differ from each course. There will also be a cut-off mark every year based on applicant averages. You can submit an application online and attend an interview once selected. Every Bachelors course has a seating of sixty and the Masters courses have twenty to thirty each. The course syllabus for Psychology department is very diverse and offers classes in various fields of Psychology such as Organizational, Abnormal, Social, Environmental and General Psychology as well as Physiology, Statistics, Accounting, PEBL, etc. It needs to be addressed though that the lab facilities for the Psychology department runs short and is not sufficient enough for the strength of a class.

The departments are well equipped with excellent faculty. The Rajagiri Centre of Behavioral Sciences (Psychology department) has more than ten professors who are experienced in their respective fields of study. It is to be highlighted that the professors who teach qualitative and quantitative research are very helpful and extremely diligent.

The placement cell is very efficient. They have also started placing B.Sc. Psychology graduates since 2023. As per my knowledge, almost every student from B.Com and BBA courses are placed into excellent companies and organizations based on their performance. The college has also been ranked 1st for admission and placement by AIMA.

There are separate hostels for men and women. The women’s hostel has a curfew of 7:00 pm and the men’s hostel has a curfew of 8:30 pm. The hostels provide non-vegetarian and vegetarian options every day of the week. There are no washing machines. There is an outdoor seating area for those who live in the hostel. Room cleaning will be done every now and then.

The Social Sciences college comes under the Hill campus. There is an old and new block. The new block consists of 8 floors and three well-equipped canteens. There are many venues for programs. There are separate gyms for men and women. There is a basketball ground and parking spaces for students. It is a very green campus and runs on solar power entirely. The classes are now equipped with air-conditioning.

The campus life is pretty good but students are not allowed on the campus after their hostel timings which are a bit frustrating. There are annual programs and events. ‘Splendore’ is the college’s annual fest that lasts three to five days and there are programs conducted by every department annually. The campus is very scenic with many trees and the modern infrastructure.
