NIT Hamirpur has everything a student desires for, its technology, culture, fests, self-development, helpful seniors, etc. You should definitely consider joining NIT Hamirpur because of its natural beauty and average placement opportunities. If you want to explore mountains and live your college life to the fullest, NIT Hamirpur is definitely a great option for you.

I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Hamirpur. To get into this college one needs to appear for JEE Mains examination and secure a good rank among 13-14 lakh students. For General candidates, 97-99 percentile is required to get the top branches of NIT Hamirpur. For OBC-NCL candidates, a minimum of 94-97 percentile is required. And 90-94 percentile for SC and ST category students. B.Tech in Computer Science is highly rated at NIT Hamirpur followed by Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Mechanical branches. The course is of 4 years having 8 semesters. My motive behind joining this college was greatly influenced by the Technical Societies and Fests held at NIT Hamirpur. The nature adaptive campus adds to its beauty.

The faculty members are experienced, helpful and encourage your inner hunger to do something extraordinary. They will definitely help you throughout your academic session of 4 years and help you understand the current industry demand for good placement opportunities. Most of the Professors are Ph.D holders from IITs and foreign institutions. Many of them are actively working on research projects and promote research culture among students as well. Their style of teaching is very simple and fun loving. Teacher student interaction is also very respectful.

Yes, we do have a placement cell at our college. The placement cell works really hard to bring good companies for internships and placements. As a result, the average package is 8-9 LPA. The placement cell understands its responsibility and works great in terms of bringing quality companies and offers. The placement percentage for 2023 was 84% which will definitely grow in upcoming years.

Yes, we have both Hostels and PGs at our college. The Hostels are really well maintained, and charges are also very reasonable. For the first-year students, they are provided with 3- or 4-seater rooms for boys and 6–7-seater rooms for girls. The hostel life is really amazing. You get to interact with people from different parts of India. The infrastructure is designed well, and many indoor games are provided within the hostels too. We have a badminton court, table tennis and volleyball court inside the first-year hostel. The amenities are well maintained. There is also a TV room which only works on special requests of students mostly during Cricket World Cups and Football matches. The only issue you will face here is the shortage of water which is also in the process to be fixed.

Our campus has different buildings for different departments. The academic blocks are well furnished and have labs, study centres and lecture halls. The labs are provided with latest technology equipments costing from 20-50 lakhs. The halls are also well maintained and have good build quality. There are two lecture halls. There is a big library with variety of books ranging from academic books to novels and thesis. There is one large auditorium and one mini auditorium with all the facilities provided by the institute. There are various shops inside the campus for daily needs, stationary items and laundry facility.

The institute's campus life is truly amazing. If you are a person who loves to explore things and make the best use of opportunities, then this college is for you. The seniors are really amazing and helpful. They motivate you to join clubs and participate in fests. The major fests include Nimbus, which is held in March and Hillfair, held in October. Apart from these, there are many fests like Cultural Fests, Hackathons and Technical Fests which are organised by the students themselves and various clubs are active throughout the year which will give you the best college exposure. Other activities and events are also conducted on special occasions. Clubs are there for Coding, Fine Arts, Robotics, English club, Pixonoids, Karate club, NCC Army and Navy Wing, etc.
