Studying at Shiv Nadar University has been a delight. I feel it is one of the few universities that focus on practical learning rather than just theory. It also has emphasises on the holistic development of students on all fronts, enabling each one of them to focus on their individual goals instead of being thrown into a rat race for marks. The quality of education and life on campus is amazing and I consider myself lucky to experience it. Only thing stopping me from calling the experience perfect is the hostels and constant rivalry with seniors.

The University offers B.Sc, B.Com in economics, B.A LL.B, B.Tech and M.Tech degree in the school of Engineering. To join the University, you need to write SNUCEE (Shiv Nadar University Chennai Entrance Exam) for your desired course, and interviews are awarded based on scores secured. They also ask for class 12 board exam scores / JEE scores. Although the final call is based on the score you get in the entrance exam. Once you secure an interview, they test your communication and general English / presentation skills. Based on these factors they decide whether you get in or not.

Faculty are well qualified. I can say most are even over qualified. There's a good chunk from IIT, IISC and what not. The only thing is that sometime they are too busy to come to classes regularly, or we can say that they are occupied with research, etc. But you can approach them in their cabins when they are available. In terms of research and guidance, they are the best!

Now placements here is a controversial topic, our first batch of outgoing students is 2025 for engineering. Until last year it was a shaky ground. From this year SNUC has partnered with SNU Noida for placements. So now placements are well settled and are taken care of. In addition to on-campus opportunities, many of the students tend to crack interviews for the top companies via off-campus route.

Yes, there are hostel facilities available on campus. As mentioned earlier, the only slight issue with this University is the hostels. The hostels for SNUC are shared with SSN. The girls hostellers are supposed to enter in the hostel last by 8:30pm and for men it is 10:30pm. As far as the Ladies hostel is concerned, the new block is being built, along with blocks LH6 and LH3 are amazing. LH5 has single rooms that are decent. Worst part is all of them have the same fees for each room type (ac/ non ac/shared/ single), but the block you get depends on your University and year. There are two different mess options available for food and both are fine. You can eat nutritious food every day.

There are 3 academic blocks for SNUC, which are well equipped with the facilities and labs. Since the University is relatively new, expansion is still under process. All blocks are Air Conditioned and have a good environment for learning. There are 2 libraries within these 3 blocks, and in addition, students can use SSN's library. There are 2 sports complexes for sports facilities, a cricket ground, running track, etc. All these facilities are shared between the 2 Universities.

Life on campus is a treat every day. The campus is a great place to go on a walk with your friends, or just alone. The greenery is simply pleasing and sunrise / sunset is beautiful. There are 2 major fests on campus, invented (tech fest), and instincts (cultural fest). Both of them see inter college participation from all over the country. There are over 16 clubs at the University which you can be part of based on your interests. Time to time there are other events like Hostel day, Ethnic day, Fresher's day, New year, etc.
