Journey of My Growth at Shiv Nadar University

Overall Rating
When I first joined Shiv Nadar University, I felt little bit lonely. However, after some days I started making new friends and started talking to them regularly. This university has good environment like there are many trees and temple of Lord Ganesh. University has limited seats, offering healthy & good competition among the students. This university provides scholarship to the students who top the exam.
 

Academics Rating
The course chosen by me is Cyber Security. if you choose this course, you have chance to learn some advanced skills like ethical hacking, cryptography, etc. this course has better future. An eligibility criterion to get seat my SNU Chennai is that you will have appeared in an online-proctored exam, followed by an online interview if you are selected. You have to confirm that you are taking seat here by sending them confirmation mail. Exams are held once in a month in this course. Academics help me to boost my confidence and motivate to put more effort during challenges.
Fee for Cyber Security is Rs. 3,46,000 for 1 year. Hostel fee is Rs. 1,45,000 including registration, admission fee and caution deposit. Scholarship is provided to the students who get high GPA in final exams.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are well experienced. They are also IITs and NITs graduates. They usually use projectors to teach us. If we have any doubt, they come make sure that our doubt is cleared. The ratio is generally around 1:2. They generally divide us into groups for ongoing classroom discussions, so that we can get to engage with each other and know about each other.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are generally good. We have a placement development officer who guides and paves us a path for our career. Normally, some of the good companies come to our university and hire students based on their skills. Normally workshops happen to create awareness about these activities. Wipro, Mahindra, and PayPal are some of renowned companies that come to our university. Highest package offered is 1.2 CPA and average is around 7.5 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, Shiv Nadar University offers residential facilities. In total, there are 9 hostels for boys with over 900+ rooms and total students might be around 1000. Hostel day is held as an event annually. Yes, boy’s and girl’s hostels are separate. Mess food is not up to the mark and needs to be improved. Hostel fee is Rs. 1,46,000 for AC rooms. Hostel in timings are 10:30 PM. My experience is that you can enjoy when you stay in hostel with your friends. Hostel life is good. The time here is not going to comeback in the future so enjoy when you are in to the hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 3 academic blocks in our university for courses. Campus is built in 250 acres of land. A library, gym, 1 canteen, and 3 food courts are present in university. Classrooms are fully equipped with ACs. There is a badminton court and 1 indoor basketball court here. My favorite thing is library as it has around 600 books for all the courses.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is absolutely good and amazing. You can feel secured and comfortable in the university. The crowd is limited as there are only 300 students approximately as there are limited seats. There are many clubs. Yes, I am part of Business club. Instincts, Invente, and Mela are some feats and events that are organized here. On annual sports day, tournaments are held to promote the sports among the fellow students.

    Shiv Nadar University, Chennai is a wonderful place branching off the Shiv Nadar University in Noida which in itself is recognised as an Institute of Eminence. Located amidst sprawling greenery, our campus embodies nurturing spirit.     Studying at Shiv Nadar University has been a delight. I feel it is one of the few universities that focus on practical learning rather than just theory. It also has emphasises on the holistic development of students on all fronts, enabling each one of them to focus on their individual goals instead of being thrown into a rat race for marks.
