Without a shadow of a doubt, one can take admissions here. There are rumors that they take students without much of criteria, and their G.D. & P.I. rounds are namesake. To be honest, all these are rumors as they follow the same pattern as other B-Schools like IIMs, SP Jain Institute of Management, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, or FMS follows. Yes, they are top-ranked colleges of the country, but infrastructure and curriculum wise, AGBS is for sure not behind. Amity has its own entrance but at the same time also accepts the score of other decorated entrance exams. The candidates are shortlisted and are called for the next rounds. The whole procedure takes a couple of months before the admissions are confirmed. The fees are definitely on the higher side, but even IIMS charge high fees these days. Infrastructure wise, Amity is more or less at par with even IIMS. Thus, the conclusion is that AGBS is a brand name that took years to make.

The current business scenario determines the student workload and the projects. Being marketing students, we always had more projects and more lines of research than the students of other branches. I was happy with that as I was the one who chose that for me. AGBS academic value can be derived by the fact that you have underperformed if you completed the weekly assignment a day before the submission. A marketing guy can never stop as the expectation of targets will always exceed. In the same way, if we were awarded a certain number of assignments, we had to do a few more. The toughness and the right communication were the primary learning at AGBS. The set-up of the university was such that one could quickly learn everything just by opening up.

Teachers are highly knowledgeable and possess great knowledge or insight would be again an understatement. A single PhD is more than enough, but most of the faculty at AGBS had dual PhD degrees. I don’t think I have to take it any further because this is enough in their praise. Not just the degrees they had, but their presence was enough for students to get motivated.

After burning the social life for two years and studying tremendously, I would have cursed the college if I wasn’t placed well. Getting placed from AGBS is a cakewalk. You like banks, there are over 10 banks ready to offer you a job. You feel like contributing to the FMCG sector, and all big FMCG players are out there. Thus, the bright side of AGBS is that you will be placed in the industry of your choice. The average placement was 6-7 lakhs, and it will only get better with time. Since the placements are sorted at Amity, there’s nothing else to worry about.

Amity University has hordes of hostels at the campus. Some with Ac’s, some non-ac. Some with sharing of 2, 3, and 4 while you also can go solo. Now since I was in a double sharing room, the room size was decent, and the quality too was more than decent. Single rooms can be categorised in the luxury segment, but sharing ones was faded. There was no compulsion that only roommates would stay in the room, and to meet other hostellers, we had to be in the common room. We used to have Tea Party till late at night and binge-watching together in our rooms. The food had everything that I actually love having. So, for me, the hostel was sorted entirely, and two years at the hostel was one of the finest experiences at Amity.

The size was big and the facilities even bigger. From mobility vehicles to lush green carpet like grounds, the university looked majestic. The university has around ten colleges, and each college has their own building. The shared facilities include the playgrounds, central library, amphitheatre, and auditoriums. The roads inside the university are always neat, and one will find dustbins at almost every 50m. In terms of cleanliness, the university campus has done remarkably well. There are few food outlets, a dairy, and a salon inside the campus. For medical emergencies, a small clinic that is 24x7 operational helped the student with required medical aid.

The entire struggle we did at the campus led us to lead a good life today. So, for that, I will thank the Amity campus from the bottom of my heart. In MBA studies, the prevalence of giving up or going into depression is always high. At Amity, things are taken lightly, and students are never pressured. No student at Amity will suffer from anxiety or depression at Amity’s campus.
