Panjab University B.Com Review By Simran Sodhi

Panjab University is the biggest college and the beautiful college too. It has a great vibe and atmosphere. Here you can have the experience of meeting so many people from so many different backgrounds, states and even countries. It's versatility at its best. Not just academically but even with full of fun and fest.

I pursed bachelor in commerce the cut off was so high that I was unable to get into it in the first attempt I was lucky that I got in the third attempt which took me almost a week of time but was definitely worth the wait. I did my senior secondary in commerce so B.Com was my safe bet my ultimate goal was so go for MBA but in the last year of my B.Com I got interested into lectureship. The subjects were easy as I had a base in them and got to learn more with constant practice. Of course was unable to get a job only based on B.Com as options were very less.

I had 6 different subjects in each semester and 6 different teachers. Our teachers were old and experienced most of them were Phd holders and had so much more to share from life than just from the education. I'm glad that I got to be part of the university life and with my amazing teachers who were super supportive of us. We had the option to connective with our teachers at any time of the day if we had any queries related to subject or personal. My lecturers were the one who motivated me to pursue lectureship.

We had a very regular campus placement drive at University and we were allowed to sit in any other subjects drive too as they believed this would lead to great sense of how to participate in interviews. Companies like Deloitte, Infosys etc. came for recruitment. My friend was able to secure a package of 8LPA in his final year. Rest of us weren't very lucky as the MBA students used to overpower us in the interviews. So the drives were highly competitive for big companies. Almost only 30% of my friends were selected but only 10% joined their jobs as rest wanted to pursue further studies to get a higher paying job.

Panjab University has the best hostels and hostel Life in the whole Punjab. There are 2 types of both hostels with time trouble and with no time trouble. Even for girls hostel food was average but University has the biggest and most affordable canteen so food was never a problem. University is fully packed with security and guards as being so big and open and even the faculty members have their residence on the university land so security was tight and some days used to check our identity cards too.

Biggest ever campus land as there are plenty of colleges, hostels, faculty residency, swimming pool, botanical gardens, stage, cricket grounds, sports grounds , libraries, labs, all buildings had their person auditoriums. The place is humungous there's no end. It can take you a whole week to visit each and every place here. They have hosted so many concerts by Bollywood singers and Punjabi singers most of them were also pass out of the university.

There is nothing better than a life at University which has the best of people, food and activities. You can never get enough of it all and you can never stop exploring it. Panjab University hosted the biggest college fest where lakhs of students would gather to enjoy festivities and not just the students even the teachers would participate in them. It's one big family where you can interact and learn a lot about diversity and versatility. I could do anything to go back into this fun life where study was made fun only with the great experience of college life. Beautiful 3 years indeed.
