Techno Main Salt Lake Kolkata also known as TMSL or TISL (Techno India Salt Lake), it is among one of the top private institutes of West Bengal. TMSL is affiliated to MAKAUT University and it's approved to AICTE and some courses are NBA accredited too. And it's ranked as 3rd private institutes in Kolkata. The Admission has been taken by WBJEE counseling. One who appeared for WBJEE exam they can participate in counseling and can apply accordingly. And also the admission is taken through JEE Mains percentile. Since it's a private college so the admission is also done by Management Quota.

I've joined a course of B.Tech in Computer Science and Business Systems (also called CSBS), currently I'm in 1st year. This branch CSBS is launched by TCS and in our college we'll be the first batch who will pass out in 2025. We've to qualify in WBJEE exam and on the basis of the rank we got; different colleges are allotted through the WBJEE counseling. So, my rank was 8183, and the closing rank for this course was 10,000 in 2021. I always wanted to be a CS engineer and I've interest in coding, web development and all, and my rank was not that much good so I'll definitely not getting CS core and TMSL is a really good college and after searching I found that this course is really good so ended up joining this. And I'm happy to join this. Hence the course was launched by TCS so they'll be our 1st recruiter, so this course will help us to get a good job.

Since, our course is newly launched in our college so the total no. of faculties in our college for all branches are more than 100. And for our course there are around 10-15 faculties who teach us all the subjects. One thing which is best for this college is that the faculties here are really great. They're all knowledgeable, highly qualified and experienced. Many have completed PhD. There class notes are really great. Those who used to attend their classes they'll never have to work hard during exams they can just revise things from their class notes.

In our college, there is a Training and Placement cell which makes the students company ready. I've heard that the cells are always helpful and that's why the placements are also going good. They teach everything regarding the placements. By the way, I don't have much knowledge about it as I'm in 1st year only. The Top companies which have visited in our college are Microsoft (once it came), Infosys, TCS, etc. There's no placement record available for our batch as it's a new batch and has started from 2021 only. But the average placement of our college is around 5-7 LPA, a good number of students cracked the CTC of 6-6.5 LPA. More than 85% of the students got placed in CSE/IT/ECE branch.

The hostels facilities are not good. TMSL, it has a small campus so the hostels are not inside the campus, for that they have tied up with some of the hostels which are around 10-20 mins of the distance. Also, many of the students who lived there they told that the hostels are very bad; they're not good not maintained. Also when we're searching for pg (as everyone told that the hostels are not good) , our parents told us to visit their once for satisfaction so when they came after seeing the hostels they said it's not good, it's better to live in a pg than the hostel.

TMSL has a small campus of around 10 acres. It falls under Techno India group. One main thing is that it's situated at a very good location. As salt Lake is very well known place and Sector 5 is an IT hub we can say. Most of the companies are there in Salt Lake like TCS, Wipro, etc. Classrooms are well furnished, there is a Library (which is a bit small) and all the books are available there. Yes there are workshops for different departments. There's a playground which is not huge in area but it's good as I've mentioned it has a small campus so. Almost every type of facilities are provided like lift, medical support, etc. Also there's a swimming pool which is mostly closed.

Overall I like this college. Everything is good. There's a lot of clubs for different activities like for sport's there's sports club, for graphic designing there's GEEKONIX club, for social work there's SAMARITANS club, similarly IIC, etc are there. Every year fests are organised like EDGE and more. All the clubs provide some opportunities to be a part of the club and to do social works or to follow our hobbies, etc. Hence, my opinion is that this college is really great and also the total fees for my course is around 4,94,000 (excluding hostel charges) which is affordable and the placement is also good it's increasing per year.
