Quantum School of Technology B.Tech Review By Seema Gupta

Before writing this review, I did my research and saw that so many fake reviews have been posted. The money ball can do anything my friends because as a student of Quantum University, all I can say is never join this university and especially Quantum School of Technology. I passed out in 2015 but things are still the same as one of my friend’s brothers is studying there and he has exactly the same views that I have. The management needs cash and more cash. We can’t buy books from elsewhere other than college. For the books worth 5000, they charged us 12000. As a student, I refused to buy as there were seniors who gave me their books, but if you don’t buy the books; your entry from classes will be banished. Not just books but same with the uniform as well. The college’s director was just like a gunman. All the other members of the management will fight over illogical things and the ones who suffer are the students. Infrastructure has changed from then and that is the only change that the university has made.

Students don’t even get more than 15 days of medical leave as it was that strict in attendance. I was like great because at the end of the day, we are for studies. After sometime I realized that is just to show the trustees that they maintain attendance because they could come at any point in time for inspection. Classes were converted into smart classes but many faculties who were teaching us electronics didn’t know how to operate them. This was the condition of the university and now imagine how the students who passed from here would have looked like.

Electronics teacher didn’t know integration. Some who were good always taught us with full enthusiasm and helped us prepare for competitive exams. They were totally clear that Quantum is not going to feed us anything and that’s the only way to save our futures. So even though a mix of good and bad teachers, I would still say that for me the university’s faculty scores the highest points. If the ones who were serious about students weren’t there, the university would have been lost by now.

If you look at their ads and site, you will only be misled. The university claims that they have placed maximum students in TCS. I challenge even if they have placed 10 students in TCS. TCS has hardly visited the Quantum campus not just in our time but in recent years too, they have never been to Quantum campus. The top IT company that visited the campus was Wipro as they have started their offices in Dehradun. Many start-ups and media companies were the companies that have come and took 10-15% of the students at a petty salary. Placements of Quantum are worst, if compared with other engineering colleges of UK.

If I tell you how the hostels looked then because they have changed drastically now. I will tell you how the hostels were back then. They were stinking as the pipes were leaked and one can smell it even if they are crossing the stairs. The mess benches which are still the same can go off at any point in time. The quality of food would not be my area as I never had any item at the mess. Outsiders too can join their friends at the hostels but have to leave before 7 pm as it was the curfew time of girl’s hostel. If I am right, it has been revised to 8 pm now. The mess bill though was so high because students had to pay that separately as hostel fees didn’t include that. Also, the mess served both veg and non-vegetarian food in the same mess. From then to now, the hostel buildings have been renovated and many common rooms have been added. Also, the leakage problem is no more so one can have a comfortable stay at the hostels.

The campus was big and was also good looking. That’s not the point though because they bought i3 in the world of i7. The other labs too had outdated stuffs and even after students making demands, the management said, deal with whatever provided. The academic blocks were fantastic and so was the greenery inside the campus. The library was great and also the campus was fully Wi-Fi. There was a cap though on amount of internet that a student can use.

The university has many societies that actively work. The annual fest OJAS was one of the best fests as students from IIT too used to come and see the event. If studies were fine, I could have dealt with other things but when the spine of the body is not in good shape, other things look meaningless.
