Overall Rating
St. Xavier's College, Kolkata is a promising Institution which although Autonomous gives you a Calcutta University accredited Degree after graduating. Enriched in various courses and faculty who is just a mail away, it gives you a pathway to your dreams. This College also gives you exposure beyond simply academics. You get to participate in events that enrich your knowledge and inculcate you with real World skills, helps you build skills in the fields of Marketing, Collaboration, Research and Case Studies through society work.
 

Academics Rating
My course is B.Sc (Hons.). Admission into the courses is dependent on your performance in entrance test as well as board marks. Exams are taken at an interval of 3 months (mid semester and end semester). Classes rarely get cancelled and the Professors are always on time. They provide study materials as well as explain patiently in class. They respond to emails in case of any doubts if the College is closed.
The fee is to be paid in 2 instalments for each semester. Separate fees is to be paid for arrear paper if any, condonation or for being debarred.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at SXC Kolkata is very approachable, humble and kind. They are disciplined and strict but never fail to deliver. Their methods of teaching depend from Professor to Professor (could be PPTs/ diagrams/ oral questions). They provide practical that widen your knowledge beyond textbook and can always be approached in case of queries. All the important notice and updates are always communicated on time and they maintain a good professional bonding with the students.
 

Placement Rating
The Placement Cell of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata works all around the year ensuring top companies. The highest package recorded is of 22 LPA. New companies are approached and a lot of Internship opportunities are provided for different courses. They readily help in case of any difficulties faced during the process.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is very strict in terms of discipline and timings. Proper hygienic food is provided with separate hostel for boys and girls. Safety is ensured and TV/games room is available for leisure activities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The classrooms are well equipped with AC. Lift access is available for the faculty/specially abled people. Games room, playground, gym, library equipped with huge resources and 3 canteens with veg and non-veg options are available. Seminar halls and auditorium is well maintained & a sick room is also available for any medical aid. Students can get access to Xerox facilities, Computer rooms as well as a dedicated woman's room.
 

Campus Rating
The College has a lot of societies ranging from Economics to Consulting, Marketing, TEDX, Cultural societies and more. Students are always informed about inter College opportunities and St. Xavier's College, Kolkata is well known for its yearly fest ‘Xavotsav’ which usually happens in the month of January. The society gives a fair chance to socialise with people of other departments and a separate department of sports has also been established. 2 social units, AICUF and NSS also work for a good cause and give students the opportunity to indulge in the same.

    SXC Kolkata has a strong alumni network. The Commerce classes are held in the morning from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In this College, you are free to do all kinds of training, certificate course, internships, etc. The College conducts various extracurricular activities for the students.     SXC Kolkata is one of the best Colleges in India for the students who want to pursue UG and PG courses. When I first entered in the College, I was confused between B.Sc Economics and B.Com (Hons.). I chose this College and a year later as an economics sophomore, I can proudly say that I do not regret my decision. I really like this College.     My experience in this College is great. The campus has friendly environment. This College is good in all the aspects such as good faculty, infrastructure, etc. I chose this College because of its great reputation and studying here will give me better experience.     St. Xavier's College is known for its strict academic standards and attendance policies, but what remains unknown is that Xavier's becomes the 6th best Commerce college in India according to the NIRF ranking 2024, because of its infrastructure, culture, academics, discipline and most importantly, the people.
