Overall Rating
SXC Kolkata has a strong alumni network. The Commerce classes are held in the morning from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In this College, you are free to do all kinds of training, certificate course, internships, etc. The College conducts various extracurricular activities for the students. The faculty members here are well experienced. I would recommend others to take admission in this College.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.Com (Hons.). The eligibility criteria vary from year to year but the student have to score 92% in their class 12th boards. It is mandatory for the students to have English, Math, and any 2 subjects in their class 12th. You just have to fill the online application form and submit the required documents to the respective authorities. The College conducts 2 exams in one semester. The academics help the students in all kinds of professional courses. The academics make the students industry ready.
The fee of my course is around Rs. 93,500/- per year. The students can pay the fee in installments. In the first installments, the students have to pay Rs. 40,500/-. In the second installment, the student have to pay Rs. 17,000/-. In the third installment, the students have to pay Rs. 19,000/-. In the fourth installment, the fee is Rs. 16,000/-. The College does not provide special discount to the students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of SXC Kolkata are great. New teachers have joined the College. Almost all the teachers have done Ph.D in their respective field. They use various teaching methods such as PPTs, blackboard, group discussion, etc. There are more than 45 teachers in our department. The teachers are approachable; you can ask the doubts outside the class as well. They not only provide solutions to the academics problems but you can also take help from them if you are facing problems in your real life as well.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, our College has a very active placement cell. It provides both internship and placement opportunities to the students. The cell conducts multiple seminars and programs which prepare the students for interviews. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, etc. visit our campus for recruitment.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, SXC Kolkata offers accommodation facilities to the students. The mess provides hygienic food to the students. The mess offers 3 meals per day. The hostel fee is around Rs. 8000/- per month. The gates of the hostel get closed by 8:30 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is located at the Mother Teresa Sarani Kolkata. The campus has primary academic block named Lakshmi & Usha Mittal foundation building. The block of our department is huge. The classroom has the seating capacity of around 100 students. The classrooms are equipped with projectors. The campus has library, labs, seminar halls, huge auditorium, conference hall, etc. The College offers various sports facilities such as Football field, 2 Basketball court, etc. The campus also has canteen and security is present at the campus as well. The students cannot enter the campus without their ID card.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life till now is good. The crowd consists of likeminded and motivated people. There are various societies in this College. I am a part of Xaverian Debate society. Every department conducts their own event. The College also conducts a fest called ‘Xavotsav’. I have attended various events and it helped me boost my confidence.

This College is good in all the aspects such as good faculty, infrastructure, etc. I chose this College because of its great reputation and studying here will give me better experience.     St. Xavier's College is known for its strict academic standards and attendance policies, but what remains unknown is that Xavier's becomes the 6th best Commerce college in India according to the NIRF ranking 2024, because of its infrastructure, culture, academics, discipline and most importantly, the people.     My overall experience in this college has been average. The college consists of two courses BMS and B.Com for commerce students and I am a part of the B.Com program.
