Pros and Cons of NITJ

Overall Rating
NITJ is a very good institute, and it got 46th ranking in NIR. It has a lush green campus with an area of 155 acres. The institute has very good placement and internship opportunities. It has decent sports facilities and faculties are well-qualified and friendly. There is a 1:10 student to teacher ratio.
 

Academics Rating
There are 8 semesters in the B.Tech course and two examinations are conducted in every semester; one is midterm and second is the end semester examination. The quizzes are conducted on regular bases and there is one final practical exam for every lab subject. One must get at least 40% marks in every subject to pass. There is a strict 75% attendance policy and if not maintained then done you will be detained from the exams.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are very well-qualified and friendly. They all have done their PhD’s and higher graduation from prestigious institutes like IITs. All faculties are available during working hours, and they teach us using smart boards and laptops. Some of the faculties are not up to the mark but still better than faculties of other institutes.
 

Placement Rating
NIT, Jalandhar has very decent placements. About 95% of students got placed from the Information Technology branch and the highest package was 65 LPA and average package overall was 13 LPA for tech branches.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 3 hostels for first year students. One is Bh1, second is Bh2 and the last is Bh5. Bh1 and bh2 have 4-seater hostels and bh5 have 2-seater hostels. Overall, the facilities of hostels are above average, and food is also good and hygienic.
 

Infrastructure Rating
NIT jalandhar has an average infrastructure. All the branches have their own department. There are many places to relax with your friend and spend some quality time. There is a Domino's and Nescafe outlet also. Additionally, a night canteen of Yadav canteen and campus café is available.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is very good in NIT Jalandhar. Every festival is celebrated with joy in this institute like Janmashtami, Diwali, Dusshera, Holi and many south festivals as well. There are many clubs including Octaves (music club), dance club, National Cadet Corps, NSS, NSO, cricket club. There is a cricket ground, football ground, volleyball court, indoor badminton court. You will definitely have a good time in this institute.

  • NIT, Jalandhar : Better Than My Expectations

    Earlier, I was not about to take admission here but as the situations changed after my JEE Mains result, this institute was offering me the best I could get based on my rank, Information Technology.
