It's a pretty decent university to study. The environment is very relaxed for most of the branches and if you want to be in a university where you can prepare for entrance or any other competitive exams then go for it. The campus is large and covers almost 500 acres but is mostly green with the forest part covering the majority of it. The infrastructure here is divided, covering areas for residential zones, hostels, academic buildings and administrative buildings. All the basic amenities are available within the campus as it's surrounded by rural areas, and you need to travel 20 min to go to Mahendragarh city. CUH is definitely not an alternative to any university but it's a good option for a central university and it's quite affordable.

The academics here are relaxed as compared to other universities, so students get time to prepare for entrance or competitive exams. Admission in B.Tech is only possible through JEE and has four branches - Computer Science, Civil, Electrical and Printing & Packaging. You can take admission in other departments through CUET. There is also an option to choose elective courses in some semesters. The fees here are quite less, so it's a good place in terms of money if you want your education to be economical.

The faculty members in Computer Science are supportive and a little strict. Any kind of politics or indiscipline is not tolerated. All the faculties take strict action against any ragging incidents. The majority of them are well-qualified and will support you, if you have any ideas or projects that you want to implement. There is no relative grading, and they give CGPA at the end of each semester.

On campus placements are only available for students who have a CGPA greater than 7.5 when companies visit but not a lot of companies visit for engineering so you would have to try for off campus placement drives. There are a few student clubs which you can join, and seniors are helpful so you can also take guidance from them for placement or how you can up skill yourself. The placement scenario is decent here, but it's expected to improve in the future.

The hostels just cover the basic needs. There are no AC rooms. There are three boys’ hostels and four girls’ hostels, out of which 2 hostels are new for both boys and girls each. There is one old boys’ hostel and two old girls’ hostels. These seven hostels are not enough to accommodate all the students. Almost all of the girls get a hostel now but a lot of the boys need to get a room in one of the PGs but those are expensive. Students get allotted a hostel based on their odd semester CGPA and for first year students; it's just a game of chance. The new hostel’s infrastructure is good but Wi-Fi is limited. The old hostel has smaller rooms but you get unlimited Wi-Fi there. The mess is okay. For recreation, there are TV rooms where you can take permission and watch cricket or something with other people. There are two badminton courts in each hostel.

The infrastructure is average for the B.Tech. Students. There are three academic blocks where the infrastructure is alright, and almost all the department classes are held there. Only the B.Tech. Computer Science students have their classes in academic block from second year onwards. There is a sports complex which hasn't been well maintained but a new one is being made. The infrastructure isn't among the top things here but it's clean and they have maintained what they have.

There are clubs for Computer Science students. A cultural fest called Spandan is held every year in January or February. The crowd surprisingly has a lot of variety. Most of the people here are from Haryana, Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh but you can see people from many other states as well. Northeastern and South Indian states have their own groups where they celebrate and get together. There is a strict anti-ragging policy, and the university is strict in terms of discipline so it's a good experience to live here.
