The manner at which the student-operated needs a salute. The sign of abundance in spirit was evident right from the word go. Nothing was inspirited at the campus, as the rhythm that started on the first day ended with the same on the last day. MDI is without a doubt the finest Institute on display in India. One can debate whether IIMs are way ahead but will debate it some other day as I will share all the great things that MDI has to offer. The Institute has stood up in tough times and has never given up on its students. All the faculties are bankers here, as you can bank on their experience and learn as much as you can. The Infrastructure was a sea of green as Gurgaon doesn’t have enough greenery, but MDI is opposite of that. Some students came from a misery in their UG life and MDI helped them overcome all their misery. So, all the rabbits caught in the headlights were freed at MDI.

No calamities of errors were allowed here as attending lectures was compulsory at MDI. The College never says 'please don’t come and attend the lectures' but they rather made it so interesting that even after having such a little sleep, all the students were ready on time for the lectures. After lectures, it was all me time for me because we were freer than what I was during my engineering course. The fun part took over after the dinner as the academics part didn’t even cross our minds after dinner. Such was the academic life here that it was well distributed that students can attend the lectures and find me time as much as they want.

I didn’t have a tough time at MDI, but explaining my experience with faculty is tough. The faculties did their job by teaching us to the best of their abilities. Providing us exposure to the industry and organizing workshops and seminars that help us get the monkey off our back. If their role is more than that, I would love to hear them out, as for me this was more than what the greatest faculties on earth could do. So, for me, I have met the greatest faculties on earth at MDI.

After our placements were completed, I was looking at the newspapers showing the comparison of the placements of the top B-Schools in India. It was unfortunate that either I missed or in that year, the newspaper companies didn’t get the data or what because in our batch 10 lakhs placements were bare minimum. Some students even got placed in abroad with juicy cheques of 40 lakhs and above. HR is considered the lowest department in B-Schools, but things turned upside down as HR students in our year rocked. MNCs like Amazon, Bata India, Siemens, and Deloitte hired HR students with a pay package or more that of Finance, or Marketing students.

Imagine if you get a good hostel room and then imagine that hostel lobby with a balcony in it. Yes, such were the rooms of MDI Gurgaon that I fell in love with my room. I was staying at the most economical hostel of the campus called 'Change Masters'. Still, for me it was good enough, or should I say, much better than what I saw during my UG life. More than rooms, it was the hostel discussions, food, and life that I had at hostel was more amazing than I could have ever thought. Student’s health was primarily the area of concern of the management and they ensured food cooked in the best oils and we were provided salad and fruits in our mess. Thus, everything about the hostels of MDI was great except for the fact that life was such at hostels that one could never have enough sleep.

Most iconic if I may say it, because the buildings that MDI campus had were beyond my imaginations. The library greens were close to the best tea stall of the campus. So, studying with evening tea at the library became the best place to learn. After returning from the library, we used to come to the hostels and immediately change and rush to the green rooms and lounges of the hostels. They were again best in class. Though I never woke up early, whenever I did, I saw students taking full use of the campus by jogging on the tracks built along the gardens. So, from fitness to entertainment, the Infrastructure of the MDI campus has got it all covered in the best possible way.

MDI campus life was special Today, Tomorrow, and Forever. For all the crazy things that I imagined doing, I did them all at MDI campus. From playing Poker to smoking till I went high, I did it all. One thing that envies even the IIM blokes about MDI campus life is its annual event Imperium. Students of almost all top B-Schools are invited to be a part of that event that hosts a series of activities from sports to quizzes.
