The PIMR management studies department is good, but it is more of a regular College. There are no flashes about the College because the infrastructure is average and so is the crowd. The MBA program is the most decorated program of the University as placements are good and so are the studies. We were hit by Covid in the final semester, but even the online classes were valuable and luckily the placements were done and dusted before that. The placements took some beating, but I was not on the false side, so have no reasons to complain about that. Along with studies, many co-curricular activities keep happening. Not academic things but beyond that, too, the University offers a great deal of things. Along with great exposure, the College also has roped in some of the best-qualified faculties who never let studies take any form of beating.

I wish I knew that the MBA program is so tough that I should think twice before enrolling. Even the job hours ended at 5 pm, but PIMR classes didn't. Classes started at 9 am and 6 pm was the regular time here. On occasions, it went beyond that, and the chance of bunking was so slim that with a heavy heart, I had to be present in the classes. One good thing happened with that is, I learned how to keep myself glued to a table and chair from morning to evening. This was the best thing that classes did to me because otherwise a lot of things that were discussed in class were out of syllabus.

Not maintaining good terms with faculties can cost badly. People from MP are quite emotional, but messing around with them can be a hard pill to swallow. The thought process that they put in students before coming to the next class at least gave some motivation to come to classes daily. Thus, their motivational speeches often helped me at a personal level because the driving force of any MBA College is its faculties. Faculties always asked us to back our strength as many students changed the specialization on faculties advice. They were not dominant, but because they saw a certain skill in certain students, they asked them to switch from one spec to the other. The faculties over here mentally took us to a state of mind that working in corporate will never be easy because we could get placed, but it's not that people in the corporate world are not fired. So, how to be efficient and effective is what we were taught from class number one.

The College didn't run from the responsibility of placing the students. So, for that a round of cheer to PIMR because they have been firm on their stance that if there's an MBA College in the state, it's IIM Indore, and then the PIMR. Some students showed unwillingness in placements, so those students made things simpler for the ones who needed placements. Placement percentage is quite high at PIMR as placements began from January and before Covid forced the College into a lockdown; 70% students were placed through campus.

PIMR doesn't have its hostel but the College has made tie-ups with some of the best private hostels of the city. Rooms for PIMR students are always kept in bay because whoever needs an admission in hostels were provided once the students applied. Here again, the area in which the College is located is one of the porch locations of the city. From flats to PGs, one can find the best possible accommodation and food close to the College.

The College is not that big as I am comparing it with my previous College and other B-Schools that I saw before taking admissions here. The building of the campus is well equipped as there are 20 labs in the building. Water and washrooms were taken care of completely and lastly the parking area. In MP, it's tough to find people who don't own a two-wheeler after joining the College. The canteen was small but Indori Pohe was my everyday breakfast at the College canteen. Sports facilities from indoor to outdoor were quite average and that was the reason, the playing areas were hardly occupied.

PIMR is quite keen on organizing workshops and seminars for students. The skills and variations required for management studies were honed by taking us for outings to industrial visits. Yes, they didn't always get it right as we were once taken to some industries when they weren't operational. Invariably, though, the College gave us a quality campus life because the crowd was desperate to learn and having them around, positive energy stuck to each other. All in all, I was in a good mental space while pursuing MBA from PIMR.
