One can be a free spirit at SDMIMD as togetherness was the mantra here. I saw my seniors first and saw that they were kind of enjoying their life here. A fine balance of vibe is required in College and especially in B-Schools where so that you don't have any tensions while studying. Well, I had no tensions at SDMIMD as my brother had already passed out from here and his juniors who became my seniors looked after me like their own brother. If I talk about the credentials of the faculty, then it is best to none. The placement credentials, too, were best to none. SDMIMD has got a glean little bit different from the others. The management let everyone do their things because incubation started here in 2016 and students were free to present their ideas. Most students were from engineering background and therefore the statistics and other subjects which were taught to commerce students were given extra attention so that we could also catch up.

As I have spoken of togetherness, the togetherness worked sharply in academics. Math and other things that were taught in engineering gave us an edge, while statistics and economics, which were taught in commerce, gave the students with commerce backgrounds an edge. Students had to present PPTs almost every single day, and this was one area in which I wasn't good at all. Luckily the faculty and my fellow students helped me out with that and together all the students grew their bond over studies. Academics here off-campus too, as Bangalore, which was always my dream city, we were presented internship opportunities over there. So, academics here covered all the aspects of subjects and placements.

The faculty of SDMIMD seems like a huge fan of three great Indian captains. Faculties have taken coolness from MSD, togetherness from Rohit Sharma and aggression from Virat Kohli. By aggression, I don't mean they were aggressive, but their approach in teaching was aggressive. An accelerator was kept on by them because they were adamant that students should have at least a month to prepare for the exams. As a student, we had to keep learning but here it was the same with the faculties, too; as they also kept learning by doing some research and keeping themselves updated not with the financial markets of the world, but also with a clear picture of sectors to look upon. So, for faculties, I am speechless because they were that great.

Placements kept adding because I can't remember the actual number of rounds that happened for placements. Having a single piece of placement was underrated here because unless you have many offers, you can't enter the list of most sought-after guys at the campus. Placements have made SDMIMD students the way many corporate look at them. The College values placement above all and that is why the track record of placement is always close to 100% at SDMIMD.

There's a boys and girls hostel inside the campus and luckily only single rooms are provided to students. The room size was small, but for an individual that was always going to be enough. Hostel was a mini world for us at the campus as there was a lounge at the hostel, the dining area was shared by both girls and boys hostel and the recreational facilities of both the hostels were amazing. Boys were allowed at certain facilities of the girl's hostel while girls were allowed to come to boy's hostel till 9 pm. The food part was a little dicey because I have had authentic Mysore Dosas at many places in India but when I had it in our hostel dining hall, I came to know that in the name of authenticity they served dosas which were nowhere close to actual Mysore Masala Dosa.

SDMIMD's auditorium was a mini theater as the seats were as comfortable as anything. The stage was a little small as a group dance performance, which meant only 6-8 students in that dance, as otherwise, some students might fall from the floor. Well, jokes apart, the auditorium might not be better than my previous College, but was great. The library was good, but the best was the Suvidha Center. Suvidha Center is the mini departmental store of the campus that helped us get all our daily essentials from soap to snacks; Suvidha center had it all.

The main events of the College were Pratigam and Abhigyaan. The best, though, was the talent search program organized at the campus called 'Khoj'. Students were free to express themselves as it didn't matter how they performed. What mattered was that students roped in confidence of going to the stage and performing while all the SDMITES were watching. Humorous skits, and colorful dances is what we saw at the fests.
