Only students with good percentiles in CAT can join SDMIMD Mysore, and there is a stringent cut-off rule for the admission process. A group discussion followed by a personal interview for the selection process determines whether you get admission to this College. The final admission process selects the best, and they get admission to this prestigious College with a great history. The orientation program takes place the very next day after your admission, wherein you get to know your faculty and future classmates. This is a great session to know each other and understand the workings of the College. Several alumni are placed doing well for themselves and take pride in being students of SDMIMD.

The course happened to be tough for students from engineering and other backgrounds to understand the concepts of management and marketing. Luckily, I did BBA and therefore helping my friends from engineering students worked as a boon for me. Since this College emphasizes academics, you will gradually learn to be more studious and get help from fellow classmates and the faculty to sail through. The initial semester was tough, but as we got into the groove and began working hard and understanding the concepts, it was smooth sailing from there. We learned from practicals and worked on hypothetical situations to hone our talent in the subject, and the faculty helped us achieve that.

You have amazing faculty on the campus, and great guest lecturers come by frequently, making our PGDM journey all the better. There were both main faculties as well subordinate faculties, that were part of our teaching system. Each one played a key role in our teaching experience. We enjoyed the one-on-one sessions with the faculty as they were friendly and emphasized the importance of being the best in our field and excelling at all levels. This gave us the impetus to work hard and do better.

The College is known for significant placement positions, and all the students have gotten into well-known firms. The pay-package offer is also good for a fresher and is an excellent opportunity to get your employment started before joining other companies to further your career. The initial head starts you get from this College, with the SDMIMD Placement officers working overtime to get you the best companies on the campus. There is a great hiring spree with most of the candidates getting selected. Also, another round for those who are left out. But overall, several students were very well placed after the placement sessions.

There is a hostel facility for the students but those who have to stay off-campus there are some good PG accommodations nearby and you can reach the campus easily because of the frequent bus facilities there. As of now there’s one girl’s hostel but construction of a new hostel is going on the campus. There are chances that it might be operational by now. Hopefully, our next batch will get to stay on the campus and not have to travel back and forth like us because during our time the hostel had less capacity and I couldn’t find myself a berth because of some ongoing politics. However, we enjoyed the freedom of staying out of the campus. It is another feeling staying on it and unfortunately, I missed it.

The campus isn’t sprawling like most B-school campuses across the nation, but it was big enough for us. The best part of the campus was the greenery. It was filled with trees and plants that gave us the green lung space that we don’t get in other cities. The campus was delightful with all the infrastructure in place. All the digitalization has been used so that the students don’t get left out of the latest lab facilities. Every classroom has smart boards, and even AC in every room was a big tick for us and value for money. The canteen was good as Pudu for breakfast was my favorite meal at the canteen.

The campus is not great for having fun as you will. Academics prevail over extracurricular activities. However, there is such a great mix of students that you will find it interesting to mingle with them and interact. There is an annual fest that takes place in which all the students do participate. However, business fests and events are strictly according to the curriculum and indulgence in fun activities is reduced to a minimum. There is so much to learn and grasp from others while you stay at the B-school. The amazing part of being in SDMIMD is that the faculty is friendly, and you can approach them for all matters that make them part of us.
