Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Anuj Kumar

I am currently a final year student in Electronics Engineering at Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology. My overall experience at this institute has been a mix of disappointment and freedom. Disappointment was mainly in terms of less activities and events for enjoyment of the students. If you have good connections, with faculties, HoD and Dean then your college journey here are going to be quite awesome.

Admission to this course is based on the AKTU counseling and the strength of a batch ranges from 70 to 80 students. Classes are regular, but extremely depend on your department and faculties associated with subjects. 75% attendance is compulsory but the administration is lenient if you get some genuine issues due to which you are not able to complete the 75 percent criteria.

Every department has its own faculties. Most of the faculties are guest faculties. Some of the faculties are permanent in each department. Most of the faculties in the Electronics Engineering department are helpful and cooperative except one or two faculties. Teaching style of the faculties is conventional and old. Most of the permanent faculties are PhD holders in their respective fields but as far as guest faculties are concerned, they are either post-graduate or PhD scholars.

The college has its own placement cell, which is called Career Development Cell or Training & Placement Cell of KNIT Sultanpur. A dedicated team of 3rd and final year students is also there to facilitate the placement process. Two professors are also there to assist that team for the same. Placement cell works hard to get the students placed. As far as 2025 batch is concerned, almost 150 students out of total 420 students are already placed as of 15th December 2024. However, the downside is that almost 40% of this placement came in the sales domain. Overall, if you belong to top three branches i.e., CSE, IT and ECE then you can be sure that you will have a placement at the end of the college. However, expect a package of around 4 LPA on an average. Highest package offered until date (17/12/2024) for the 2025 batch is 17 LPA.

Hostel facility is available for the students but it is not compulsory after first year. Availing mess facility is compulsory for those who avail college hostel. There are total 10 boy’s hostels and 1 hostel for girls in the college. Hostels for first year are new and in good condition but rest of them renovation.

As it is a very old government-engineering institute, the college infrastructure corresponds to the same. In simple words, infrastructure is old. There is an academic block, all the classes run here. An administrative block is also there. All the officials like director, registrar, and controller of examinations sit here. Administrative building in comparatively new but the academic section is quite old. Basic amenities are available in each building. There are total 6 canteens in the campus out of which 2 canteens are nearby hostel. One of those remains open until 12:30 AM in the night and the other remains open until 2 AM.

The campus life in KNIT is best part here. Although you will lack the top-notch facilities but you will learn to enjoy even in those circumstances. The best part about this college will be the time that you will spend with friends. The campus is generally not too much crowded. Various student club and councils are active in the college. Some of them are Cultural Council, Photography and Fine Arts Club, Literary Council, Institutions of Engineers, etc. ‘Anubhuti’ is the cultural fest of KNIT which is held in every 2 years. Cultural fest is ok but not as good as, we see in other premium and private colleges. Technical fest named Effulgence and Sports fest name Twaran are held once in every two years. You will learn to enjoy even the smallest things here.
