I am a first year B.Sc. Economics Hons. Student at BESC, and in my 4 months of college now I can honestly say that BESC is wonderful. It is true that college doesn’t have high cut offs and even average students can get admission here, but regardless of this all the students here specially in English, Science and Arts department are very creative, knowledgeable, academically strong and brilliant. Professors are very kind and fun loving. They are also highly educated and designated.

For economics Hons. in BESC you just need to have 55%+ as your aggregate, and specific 45%+ in Mathematics. For commerce and arts students math needs to be a compulsory subject in your 11th and 12th. Since it is a degree of science, the course is tough. You will have to face a lot of math but the professors are extremely talented and make the course very easy and light for you. If you want to pursue M.Sc. Eco Hons., Actuarial Science you can go for this course without hesitation. Many seniors from our department have opted further studies in IIT Delhi and ISC.

Faculty is very helpful, sweet and caring. They are also very designated. They all have studied from reputable Universities and colleges. Their way of teaching is so thorough and simple that you don’t need to sit for hours on YouTube studying complicated topics. If you attend classes regularly, you can easily score 80+. Moreover your reputation in front of professors should be very good and they will treat you like their own child.

BESC does have a placement cell, but It is a sad truth that college doesn’t provide high placements. Most of the students opt for higher studies and don’t sit for placements but B.Com department has good placement opportunities if you sit for placements you can get 4-5 LPA package.

BESC college does not provide hostel facilities but they have tie ups with many PG’s. They have many sources regarding stay accommodations. You can contact college authorities if you need PG’s and Hostel facilities.

BESC has a building and a moderate size campus but not a big ground. For Sports and Events like concerts of the Fest, college has ground behind college building. Apart from college building, college has astonishing classes and facilities. They have AC’s in every class, smooth and comfortable benches, interior Sports Arena with AC and games like Chess, Ludo, Pool, Darts, etc. BESC also has a café / canteen, that is always full with students and their chaos which is indeed a vibe.

Campus life is worth living. Many different students from different departments gather in groups and have fun all day. We have thousands of activities like Quiz, Exhibitions, Dance, Fashion Show, Athletics, Football, Basketball, Cricket, Badminton, etc. BESC has the biggest fest in South Asia that is “UMANG” which is a four daylong event with a thousand different events like fashion show, dj wars, debate, quizzes, etc. On the last day of the fest we have a concert night in which a singer is invited. We had invited Armaan Malik, Mohit Chauhan and Kailash Kher. Also actors like Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal come to promote their movies in our campus often. BESC has a special debate related club called ‘MUN’ (Model United Nations) consisting of United Nations General Assembly, Lok Sabha and International Press. Students become delegates and represent a particular country or politician and Debate. Certificates and trophies are given to everyone. Food service is also given to every participant. BESC has ‘N’ number of opportunities for you to stand out and show your talent.
