Campus Facilities of BESC Kolkata: Library, Grounds, Canteen, & More

The Bhawanipur Education Society College is good college with an amazing campus, excellent faculty and administration, a multi-purpose outdoor turf, an air-conditioned sports arena, wide range of high quality food provided at the College Canteen and a large collection of different genre and study material at the beautifully designed library. Established decades ago, this college is reputed and is in compliance of new policies, while continuing to be among the top colleges of India. There are several colleges in Kolkata offering BBA, however all of them either lacked values and qualities that I was looking in the college.

I am currently pursuing BBA (Hons.). In today’s date, Bachelors of Business Administration is the one of the most popular degree to be pursued. The enrolment process / admission process was smooth. All the necessary documents are uploaded. The students undergo three examinations in the BBA department, firstly CIE which assesses how prepared we are, where we academically stand. Secondly, and Internal Assessment (comprises 25% of our grades). Lastly, Calcutta University Examination, which comprises 75% of our grades. The examinations are challenging yet if we are prepared decently well enough, it is attainable.

The fee ranges from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 46,000 per semester. Usually, tuition is not required. The admission fee is a onetime payment included in the semester 1st fee. For students from other categories or financial needs, they must have an aggregate percentage of more than 90% in their best of 5 subjects.

BBA department has an excellent faculty. Every professor is approachable and friendly, one can freely speak to them about their concerns and problems. There is a counselor for all students, to help the students in times of emotional distress / anxiety (whether personal or academic related). There are about 100 to 120 students per class. The college has 5-10 permanent faculty members of BBA department, and several guest faculties appointed per semester to teach specific subjects. This helps us not only learn theory but also get an insight of the business world from experienced individuals of the field.

Several organizations visit BESC for placement. A few of the well-known organizations include Oracle, Axis Bank, TCS, etc. We have a placement cell in our college, one can find information about the same on the official college website as well. Our college hosts several business events where individuals from esteemed organizations are the guests. From BBA department, about 48% got placement with an average salary of 4.9 LPA and the highest package being 29 LPA.

The college does not offer any residential facilities. However, there are several hostels / PGs around the college.

The classrooms are air-conditioned, while several classrooms have a maximum strength of 100 to 120 students, there are smaller classrooms as well. There is an AV room, several halls, and an excellent library with an exquisite selection of books, college canteen, an outdoor turf, and an indoor sports arena with a wide range of games / sports to play. The security at the college is very tight, no student is allowed to enter the premises without an ID card. The environment is safe and there is a medical room as well. My favorite place is the sports arena. Everyone comes together and has fun, if someone wants to learn a new sport, there are mentors and coaches to help us out.

The campus life at BESC Kolkata is truly experiential. Here, one will come across students from all sorts of family backgrounds / communities / categories. Everyone cordially does their work without any discrimination. There are several clubs at the college, our college is known across India for its fest, Umang. The BBA department has a Business fest, Bonfire that helps students display their skill sets and competitiveness. The College Experience has been amazing. One can focus on their academics diligently, yet have a well-balanced social life here. There are several hotspots near the college, like Forum Mall, excellent street food nearby, popular restaurants and bakeries, easy transport and shopping centers as well.
