Overall Rating
Overall, the experience is good. Faculties are professional with required or more than required qualifications and experience. The core marine subjects are taken by retired or ongoing Chief Engineers and captains. Classrooms have enough facilities and laboratory equipment. They have had 100% placement for the past three years and it is the best option for students. Moreover, it is under CUSAT which is one of the best recognized universities in Asia.
 

Academics Rating
Entry requirement is based on IMU CET exam rank which is an all-India exam. That rank is converted to state rank in CUSAT and then the allotment is done. Students should have a passport and shall pass the medical examination to join this course. IMU CET exam is an online computerized exam with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Math, English, Aptitude, Logical and Reasoning.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are good with high qualifications and core subjects like the marine subjects are taught by chief engineers who are on leave or retired chief engineers and captains of ship. Since all of them have been working on ships, they have better knowledge and practical experience which comes handy when teaching that helps students understand better and know better about their work and working of equipment.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a Placement Cell in the campus. It helps students to acquire placements.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel is good. Each room is in triple sharing and there is a separate bed, study table and wardrobe. There is no such restriction as to when we have to switch off the lights. The recreational room is there for fun and entertainment. Bathrooms and toilets are common, and a small ground is also there for sports.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Academic block is a three-story building with ground floor, and it has an office, cabins for teachers and COC, CIC and HOD. The staff room, sick room, ladies and visiting room is there on the floor and the library is also on the ground floor. The first floor has classrooms of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years and also a laboratory for digital electronics and an engine simulation room. The second floor has a big drawing hall with the capacity of almost 100 students at a time. Additionally, there is a seminar hall and two more labs.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is good. Even though the stress of studies and assignments is there. This is a well-disciplined course so not many events are organised here like in other institutes but still the institute is good. Here the institute gives preliminary importance to study and all other things come next.

    Studying at Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering is an enriching journey. The college is well known for its excellent teaching and good infrastructure. More than ninety percentage students are placed in various national and international companies.     I should say that it is the best institute to study B.Tech in Marine Engineering in India as it gives a good environment for the students for their studies and other cultural and the extracurricular activities such as sports and arts.
