Maitreyi College New Delhi B.A (Hons.) Admission is Through CUET Exam

The college is situated in a good location and ensures safety of students at all times. The college offers multiple courses in Science, Humanities and field of Commerce. Apart from it, it is prestigious college which has a great infrastructure and because it is an all-girls college there is always a sense of security and comfort. Maitreyi College is pretty with large gardens and fountains and the college environment is free and isn't unnecessarily strict. I chose this college because of the location which is safe and multiple courses are offered here with internships and more opportunities guaranteed.

I am a student of BA History (Hons.). In order to enroll in this course, one needs to appear for the CUET exam and choose any 3 subjects they might want to pursue their graduation in along with a general test in English. The candidate is further supposed to fill the CSAS form. One might enroll in this course if they are passionate about studying history, is interested in research or wants to prepare for competitive exams. One gets admission based on their CUET percentile.

The Faculty includes professors who are well trained and educated. Most of them have studied from prestigious universities like JNU and more. The teachers regularly conduct lectures and tutorial classes and provide the students with notes, readings and extra information apart from the syllabus. Every semester 1 trip is made and once a year a fest is also held at Maitreyi College. It is suggested that one should be regular with their assignments and tests as they help during the exams.

Yes, the placement cell in Maitreyi College regularly provides the students with internships. Not only it provides students with jobs, it also helps them build their resume and polish the necessary skills required for placement. Often students from my college are placed at Airtel, Bajaj, etc.

Maitreyi College does have a hostel. It has facilities of washing machine, cooler, balcony and mess. The hostel has nice rooms and has strict timings and regulation. There aren't much recreational activities provided to the hostellers except the indoor games and sports facilities outside.

The campus is huge and includes administrative block, science block and an old building. It has one extremely large ground and three huge gardens. The college has labs, lifts, canteen, ice-cream parlor and parking available. The college has a basic medical healthcare unit, laundry services for the residents, Wi-Fi, library, and other facilities. The classrooms don't have AC which makes it difficult in summers.

The overall campus life is fun and jubilant. The annual fest Rhapsody is held every year in April or march and department fests are also held. Diwali Mela, Navratri and regular DJ sessions are held and every occasion or festival is celebrated here. Frequent trips are also organised to various destinations for students. Because the college is in prime location every place isn't very far from college and most cafes or restaurants are situated near the college.
