Academic Environment and Facilities at GRIET

Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology also known as GRIET, it is a good institute. The professors and faculty are good here. The infrastructure and equipment provided to the students in the institute are good. Strict rules are followed in the campus, training for the placements are also good. Students will be taught DSA, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, etc. Along with these other programming languages like Python, Java, and more are also taught here. But when we come to the fun part which is very important in a student’s life, there won’t be much fun in the institute, as GRIET is a strict campus and professors or the management won’t accept regular fests or fun in the institute. There is a dress code in the institute that every student must follow otherwise strict punishment will be given. There won’t be many holidays or semester breaks. There won’t be many cultural fests. Mobile phones are not allowed in the campus. Overall it’s a good institute if one wants to focus on only studies.

Coming to academic part, the academics in the institute are really good. Your regular semester will go as per the timetable and according to the schedule all the classes will happen. Faculty teaching can be rated as 3/5. There will be projectors for visual explanation of the topics and the classrooms are good too. Good subjects will be taught as per your branch. They will make you do a project called as G-Lob in our institute. And they are really helpful as we get to do a hands-on project using the subject they taught us. So we can learn a lot and improve our skills at Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Few faculties in this institute are good, and few faculties won’t teach much. So it really depends on what professor you are getting for that subject. But overall the faculty is fine. To be honest the lab faculty is not up to the mark. But the academic faculties are good. They provide good information and teach you the subject in depth. But it purely depends on the student’s interest also. If you are interested and you want to learn more then you can personally go to the institute faculty and ask them to explain a concept or explain something and they surely will.

Yes, we do have a placement cell in this campus. So the thing that goes in this institute is that students in their 2nd year are required to write an exam in the institute which consists of few coding questions. And once the exam is done. According to the result students are divided into 2 batches (Service batch and product batch.) The institute claims that the service batch students get somewhere around 3-5 LPA. And the product batch students get around 6-9/10 LPA. So according to the batch you are in, your placement training will be given to you. They will give some training in the morning hour and in the evening hour you need to execute those in the labs. So the placement cell is good here. Coming to the placements, yes there are good placements in this institute, but in the recent times due to the recession there were not much placements, but in general there are good placements in this institute.

Hostel for GRIET is not inside the campus, it’s outside the campus. The rules in the hostel are very strict. Students are not supposed to use mobile in the hostel and they are not supposed to go outside the hostel for a long time. Anywhere they want to go they need parents’ permission for that. So I feel like having so many rules in the campus can be fine, but in hostel also am not good as students need some free time. The rooms are clean and maintained, and have all the basic facilities. There’s good security in the hostel. And buses will be provided from the hostel to the institute.

The infrastructure is really nice, simple and calm. The classrooms are big and have projectors for teaching. Labs have all the stuff needed for experiments. The library is quiet and has a lot of books to study and also has place for students to work in their laptop sockets will be provided for charging the laptops, and the canteen food is good and not costly. There are sports grounds and gym for fitness. The campus is green, clean, and has nice places to sit and chill with friends.

Over all Campus life at GRIET is really good and enjoyable. Everyone is friendly, and it’s easy to make new friends. There are good events, and clubs to join, like music, dance, technical clubs or sports. The campus is green, big and peaceful, a nice place to study or hang out. Canteen food is good, and the staff is helpful. Overall, it’s a great place to learn and have fun at the same time. I’m having good time in the institute and so will you. It’s a good place to make some memories.
