My experience in Siliguri Institute of Technology

Overall Rating
The environment of our Institute is very peaceful. Being amidst of the beautiful tea garden, it actually soothes the mind of the students and creates a sound full environment for studying. It was one of my many reasons to take admission here. Secondly, this Institute also has a very good placement records in the last few years. The faculty of our Institute is also quite co-operative and understanding. The fee is also quite affordable.
 

Academics Rating
I have taken admission in B. Tech CSE, this year. Students can get admission through WBJEE and JEE scores. I have enrolled in this program because I have sheer determination in learning about technology and science.
The fee structure for B.Tech CSE is as follows: We have to pay an amount of Rs.98,500 during admission, which the fee of 1st semester and admission. There are no other hidden charges or donations required for admission. The second semester fee is Rs.86,500.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of our Institute is also quite good. Many faculty members are also qualified from IITs. Each and every faculty member has their own unique style of teaching. The math and physics professor at our Institute are exceptionally good and understanding. They conduct remedial classes for the students on the topics according to their demands. The chemistry professor has completed his Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur. His way of teaching is very professional.
 

Placement Rating
The placement record of our Institute is actually better than in any other Institutes in West Bengal. Last year a student from our Institute has secured a package of 51 LPA. Many top recruiters like TCS, P360, Amazon, Capgemini, etc. recruit large number of students from our Institute. The average package from our Institute is 6.5-8 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
No, our Institute does not provide residential facilities but there are a number of PGs and flats available at very pocket friendly rates for the students. It is around 200m away from the campus.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of our Institute is not too big but off course it is resourceful one. The central library of our Institute has a large variety of books of different genres. It also provides digital access to articles and novels. The game room contains a large variety of indoor games like table tennis, carom, chess, gym, etc. Our Institute has a basketball court, football ground, badminton court, volleyball court, etc. Our Institute also conducts annual sports day every year.
 

Campus Rating
In the beginning of my Institute days, I thought that I was going to regret choosing this Institute then after attending the fests and clubs and crowd, I feel like my decision was not bad. Our Institute organizes many events like fests, annual sports, internal Hackathons and other cultural events. There are many clubs at our Institute to be engaged in like the photographers club, chess club, coders club, etc.

    The overall review of my college is not so good yet not so bad; you have well qualified teachers and well equipped laboratory for experiments. The college provides 5 programs for B.Tech. In the first year, you will be provided bus service from college gate to first year building (DESH building) then after October i.e. after freshers, the bus service will be stopped....     Siliguri Institute of Technology provides different professional courses like B.Tech (CSE, CE, ECE, EE, AIML, IT, and Data Science), Hotel management, Hospitality Management, BBA, MBA, Nursing, B.Sc, Polytechnic Diploma, BCA, MCA, and more.     Institution is very large and pleasant. Students will get enough resources and books and help from the faculty and other college members. Alumni are also very helpful and help in overall every matter. College is ragging and restriction free so you are free to enjoy but the curriculum is not that great and very outdated.
