Siliguri Institute of Technology : A Leading Hub of Technology

Siliguri Institute of Technology is one of the best placement provider institutes in North Bengal. This institute is located in Sukna, Siliguri. I was a WBJEE candidate so through the WBJEE counseling I got admitted to this institute. My rank was around 19,000 so it was quite difficult for me to get a Government engineering Institute. And it was quite difficult for my family to admit me in a private institute for fees related issue. In this institute I was getting the facility of TFW in which my total tuition fees were deducted. And in quite research I came to know that this institute is very good for engineering students. The teachers are polite as well as skillful. The teachers literally go through bench by bench after completing any of the topic to ask every student if they are okay with the topic or not. So I choose this institute for my B.Tech.

I am a B.Tech CSE student in this institute. And for taking this particular stream the main reason is from the childhood I always wanted to explore the things which are related to internet world and I have quite interests in hacking related stuffs. So I choose CSE department. In our course as our institute is affiliated to the MAKAUT, our first semester is all about physics, math workshop and basic electrical engineering to give us basic knowledge as a bridge course. From the second semester we have the language classes. The teachers will give their very best to make the topic understandable to every student. And our course curriculum is always better to understand.

The faculties of Siliguri Institute of Technology are very polite and they literally go through bench to bench after completing every topic to ask the students that if they are okay with the topic or not. I think the physics faculty for the first year should be increased. Our Math faculty is too much experienced and has high order thinking level to solve any problem whether it is studies related or teaching related.

Yes, Siliguri Institute of Technology has a placement cell. And from the first year they are preparing our mind set according to the job market. Like an example I would like to mention that the placement cell members are regularly taking general aptitude classes which decide a big factor in campus placements. And the Teachers of the placement cells are very strict regarding your dress up. They instructed each and every student to wear the formal shoes as from these small signs someone can notice you.

Infrastructure of this institute is very good. There is a separate building which is only for 1st year students and in the Desh building there is a physics lab on the third floor. It has chemistry lab on the second floor a language laboratory in the third floor a drawing hall at first floor and basic Electrical Engineering Lab in the ground floor. In front of the Desh building there is a basketball court and around the basketball court there are three canteens and a gym. In the center of the map there is the huge and large main building. In the entrance when you will enter the main building there is a Saraswati Murti to dedicate every work and every function to the almighty goddess. The main building is up to 3rd floor and it has several branches. In the ground floor there is help desk to help you for any kind of queries. There is a central library in our institute which is also in a different building. The central library is very huge and in the ground floor of the central library there is also library to sit and study, there is an AC in the room. Beside the central library building there is a MCA building. And beside the MCA building there is a diploma building. The institute has separated cricket ground, badminton court, football ground, etc.

Campus life is too good in our institute. There are large amount of students who are enrolled in this institute in different branches like B.Tech, BBA, BCA, MCA, Diploma, MBA, Hospital, etc. Siliguri Institute of Technology conducts internal hackathon, tech fests, social fests, etc. There are other activities in our institute like we have annual sports function in which we have chess competition, carrom competition, volleyball matches, basketball matches, badminton matches, cricket tournaments, football tournaments, etc.
