Indraprastha College for Women: Affordable Quality Education

Indraprastha college for women in Delhi University is one the most prestigious women college in India. It has completed its glorious 100 years in 2024 in serving excellent education and guidance to students. It is well known for its historic infrastructure and beautiful campus, excellent faculty, inclusive nature having diverse student body with many extracurricular facilities like Clubs and societies, Swimming pool, huge sport's field and other essential facilities. It is located in civil lines.

Academically Indraprastha College for Women is known for its liberal arts courses, majorly Political science and Psychology, apart from these, it also offers other courses as well. I am pursuing BA (Hons) in Political science from this college. I made it through my CUET score. Political science has always been a subject of my interest and thus getting my desired course is dream come true. One have to give 2 exams for each year i.e., 1 exam at the end of each semester. Political science as a subject includes studying about our political thoughts and ideologies, Constitutional structure and function, about International relations and a lot more. It gives us a critical analysis of the current scenario of our country and world.

I believe in general also, Delhi University colleges are known for its minimum fee structure with best education available. As per my course and college I am paying in the bracket of 20-25 thousand for one year including examination fee.

Teachers or faculty members of political science department are experienced and long serving in college. Teachers here are capable of imparting knowledge which is relevant to the current political scenario. This is essential for the practical understanding and application. Teachers here use a variety of methods including ppt., self made notes, PDF’s , Debates and discussions. The faculty members are highly qualified. Teachers are capable of answering and solving our questions and doubt respectively.

Yes there is a placement cell in my college. However, I am not sure about the placements yet, because I am currently in my 3rd sem. However will update (if possible) as soon as I get the knowledge of same.

Yes my college offers hostel facilities. It has its own hostel- one inside campus and one outside (walking distance from college). Hostels at my college are strict in terms of security of students. Sufficient rooms for students and common bathroom. Each room has air ducts for ventilation. Mess food is average as per what I have heard.

Infrastructure of my college is the most beautiful factor to adore. It is located in the most posh area of Delhi- Civil lines. It has been built during the British rule, a very old and Heritage structure. However there are few recent addition as well, like academic block, extension block etc. It has a huge auditorium as well. Classroom are of varied sizes depending upon the nature of class. Canteen along with a Nescafe and Amul is also there inside the College.

Overall, to sum up my college life in few words- It is beautiful in its own way. The college, my friends circle, my classmates, the faculty members, the opportunities, all makes it wholesome. College crowd is quite peaceful all engaged and focused in their own work. Clubs are active and very disciplined. I am currently a part of quiz society- Erudite. Inter and intra college Competitions keep on taking place.
