ABV-IIITM Gwalior, while positioned as one of the India's best technical institutes focusing on IT and Management, presents both significant advantages and notable challenges. This institute was established in the year 1997. It provides decent technical education and placement opportunities. However, there are still rigid attendance policies and slow responses to student requests and grievances. Hopefully, these issues would be fixed in the near future. There is consistent placement record for core technical roles. Internet connectivity is also decent. You must learn most of the skills yourself.

There are unique dual degree programs combining tech and management. There are regular curriculum updates, attempting to match industry trends. It has a strong theoretical foundation in core subjects. The institute also likes to put great emphasis over availing the research opportunities. However, there is an overwhelming course load due to integrated curriculum. It could remove some of the outdated courses that are still in the syllabus. It could improve the teaching quality across department’s limited flexibility in choosing specialization some Management courses feel superficial rather than in depth. Overall, the academics are good enough. The first year is same for all B.Tech courses. From the second year onwards, we have core Electronics subjects like Circuit Theory, Signals & Systems, and Analog Electronics. From 6th semester onwards, VLSI design is also included.

Admission fee, security deposit, student welfare fund, and alumni fee is approximate upto Rs. 10,000. Tuition fee is Rs. 62,000 and student activity fee is Rs. 2,500 for each semester.

The faculty expertise across departments is average. However, in the recent times few industry workshops and seminars have been organized. However, there is still limited exposure to current industry trends. Most of the teachers have very rigid attendance policies. Every faculty has a PhD from reputed institutes. There is good mix of experienced and young faculty. Some faculty members have international exposure. Computer Science department is the strongest department in terms of the teaching staff. They also have a good publication record. Some professors are overloaded with academic duties.

The placement record of ABV-IIITM Gwalior is quite strong. The placement percentage for final semester students is around 80 to 90%. Some of the regular recruiters are Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Morgan Stanley, Zomato, PhonePe, and OYO. The placement record has been quite consistent over the years. Strong alumni network is also helping in placements.

There are 4 boy’s hostels, 1 girl’s hostel, and one international visitor’s hostel in ABV-IIITM Gwalior. Basic amenities are provided to each student like bed, study table and chair, fan and electric point. Wi-Fi is available (often unstable though). Security guards are there for 24/7. Students have to go through biometric entry. Girls have strict in time that is 10 PM but none for boys. Hostel fee is around Rs. 12,500 and mess fee is around Rs. 18,000 for each semester.

The infrastructure is decent. The main academic block is air conditioned with multiple wings. The classrooms are like traditional classes. In each classroom, there are green & white boards, projectors, fans, and air conditioning. Computer labs are also well equipped. Electronics lab has basic testing equipment in which some of them need a bit of modernization. Library is a three-floored building with reading halls and digital section. The seats are limited though. There is a decent collection of books. In terms of physical activity or sports facilities there are cricket ground, swimming pool, football field, and volleyball court are constructed in the premises along with the TT room, small GYM, carom, and chess facilities.

The weekday schedule is just as any normal college student. Morning starts at 8 AM and there are classes from 9 AM to 5 PM. on a busy day, there are 4 to 6 lab sessions. Weekend life is just as busy which includes more relaxed schedule but there are limited outing options. There are many club activities going on. There are multiple clubs; one can join depending upon the interests. The classes are usually small batches of 60-70 students. There are regular presentations. There is a competitive atmosphere and group study is quite common. Everyone prefers night studies during exam to complete the syllabus last minute loll. There are many annual fests including Infotsav, Urja, Aurora, and cultural week.
