My Personal Opinion on ABV-IITM Gwalior

Overall Rating
ABV-IITM Gwalior is very far from my home, like 2000 km away so I was extremely nervous when I came here. Now, I feel like this is my only home. The Institute provides a lot of facilities but the maintenance is quite bad right now but it is being improved and renovated. This is a Government Institute. I chose it because of its placements.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen the 5 year integrated course B.Tech in Information Technology and MBA. I chose this because it was the best available at my JEE rank. For admission, the students have to qualify the entrance exam. The Institute conducts two exams per semester and quizzes. The syllabus is according to the industry trends. The exams are not very difficult you can pass them by attending the classes regularly. Overall, the academics prepare us for real world challenges.
I paid Rs. 1,18,000/- per semester and the fee get increase every year. This fee includes tuition fee, hostel fee, mess fees, and other charges. The overall fee is higher for students coming through DASA. There are no special discounts provided to specific category of students but it provides scholarships to the students who are financially week. Though most banks charge lower interest for education loans to our students since it is a premier Government Institute.
 

Faculty Rating
The professors of ABV-IITM Gwalior are very experienced. Most of the teachers have done Ph.D and have good knowledge in their respective field. The teachers are all very knowledgeable but a few of them don't know how to teach so, we face problems in some classes. They help students in enhancing their skills and are very helpful.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the Institute has placement cell. The on campus placement drive will start from 7th semester and occur in 2 phases. Various companies visit our campus such as Google, Oracle, Microsoft, D.E. Shaw & Co, etc. The highest package offered by the D.E. Shaw is 67 LPA and the average offered is 27 LPA. 95% of students got placed from this Institute.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the Institute provides hostel facilities to the students. Both of the hostels are on-campus. In first year you will get 4 sharing room, In second year you will get either single or double room depending on your CGPA, and from third year you will get single room. The rooms are good but the washrooms need more improvement. The mess is average. The hostels are better than my expectations. I got a very good roommate so my experience in the hostel is good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of this Institute is good. The campus has a huge library, labs, and various other facilities. The academic block is equipped with Wi-Fi facilities. The campus also has lecture halls, etc. The classrooms have AC facilities and can accommodate around 60 to 200 students. Each classroom is enabled with Wi-Fi. There is a dedicated health center and the campus has great sports facilities.
 

Campus Rating
The Institute conducts various fests such as Infotsav, Aurora, and Celestia. There is system for finding book in library. There are various clubs such as Rotaract club, SGM, IEEE, AASF, GDG, etc. I am not a part of any of the club. The Institute also celebrates several festivals.

    I think you should definitely consider taking admission in this Institute. It’s a perfect package of good placement with good campus life. As most the IITs aren't active in other things except coding. This Institute is growing with rapid speed. Our average package is leaving behind many top Institutes.     IIITM is one of the oldest IIITs in India. Overall, my learning experience at the college was pretty good. The college infrastructure is amazing, and the activities organised are impressive. The best part about this college is its coding culture. You will get to meet a lot of enthusiastic people in almost all domains; be it Competitive Programming, Web Development or Blockchain.     Basically our college ranked nearly 80 in NRIF and currently it is 74. College has enough facilities such as ac labs and many more. There is some extra work which is under process. College consists of mostly greenery which is most peaceful. Overall infrastructure is also good. Class rooms are literally very nice. Mostly there will be no ragging in college.     As I have explored different schools and colleges since childhood I never experienced B.Tech life of college. Here in ABV IIITM campus everyone is given maximum freedom which is free from any restrictions that is very Important to students of today world. Of course we need to adjust regarding faculty but we can manage it through online videos etc. but overall the college is extraordinary with a loving nature.
