Chandigarh University BBA LLB: A Perfect Blend of Business and Law

My experience at Chandigarh University is wonderful and memorable. It focuses more on practical and that doesn't mean it avoid theory, it balance the theory and practical. For a Law student, it's necessary that there is practical exposure with theoretical knowledge. One of the main reasons that made me to opt for this university is great infrastructure, faculty members are quite seasoned, and the course is quite tailored to fit the contemporary demands for the legal industry. My instinct also promoted me to select this particular course, which has interdisciplinary approach of Business Management or Law. It also gave a chance for innovation in legal as well as business sector also welcomed the new innovative ideas and help to grow it. That makes this university different from other colleges that only aim to trained legal practitioners, but it offers students to venture into both legal and corporate sector.

My interest in Business and Law makes me to opt the BBA LLB course. Moreover, my biggest motive to enroll in this course is pursuing corporate law in my near future. As this course blend with business management topics with legal studies, was ideal choice for me. To be eligible for the BBA LLB course, candidates have to complete 10 +2 with minimum 55% marks from any recognized boards. For admission, candidates have to clear CUCET exam, conducted by the university and clear with good percentage. The exams are conducted throughout the semester. There are total 10 semesters and each semester has 2 MSTs (Mid semester Tests) and one final exam with assignments and one internship at the end of every semester. This course trains students to deal with real life challenges in the business as well as legal industries.

The fee is changed every year. The university also offers various kinds of scholarships available for the students at the time of admission, please check it while admission or registration for same. You can also make the payments in part.

Chandigarh University's faculty is average. Most of them are recently pass outs but have a good knowledge of their respective subjects. As they recently completed their course, they know the mindset of students and teach the way they expect. However, some of the professors are also from NLU's and have international background. The faculty is using mixed methods while teachings such as blackboards, PPTs, skits Group Discussions, Moot courts for practical exposures, etc.

UILS, Chandigarh university has its own placement cell known as TPC (Training and Placement Cell). It is actively working for scheduling students in their desired top companies and law firms. It also consists of career counseling cell, which are open 24/7 for the students with resume building, conducting mock interviews for the UILS students. Placement programs also include guest lectures, internships, or cooperative with some of the best law firms and corporate house, enabling networking and practical exposure among students. Average salary offered is 7-8 LPA and highest is 12-17 LPA.

The university has separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostels are very spacious and well maintained. the girls’ and boys' hostels are separated and are well equipped with necessary facilities such as laundry service, GYM, Recreation Area, Common Study Room, etc. the Hostels mess serves healthy food both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Timing of Mess is 8:30 to 9:30 AM for breakfast, 12:30 to 2:00 PM for lunch, 4:00 to 5:00 PM for snacks, and 8:00 to 9:30 PM for dinner. Hostel in timings are quite tight in summer: for Girls until 8:00 PM but for boys, there is no such restriction but 9:00 PM is expected time to come back the hostel. My personal experience is quite good as my hostel and my academic block is just 1 minute away. The wardens were very friendly. At the time of events, with wardens' permission hostel timings were also extending until 10 PM or until the event over that is very good. The most important thing is there is no ragging in the hostels and in departments.

University has a grand campus, neatly furnished with modernized academic block and infrastructure facilities. The classrooms are very spacious, have modern AV aids, and can accommodate up to 60 students. The learning environment is very conducive for studies being contemplated with natural light and proper air circulation. This university has set up excellent facilities such as a complete library with study materials, fully equipped computer laboratories, Seminar Hall, and auditoriums. A nice blend of infrastructure caters to learning and extracurricular activities. The campus has sports campus, cafeteria, and medical center. It has 24 hours of security to ensure well being. For transportation, students are at ease with every route fed into a bus connecting different parts of the city with the campus. This library is my favorite aspect of the infrastructure. The place has excellent collection of books, journals and other digital resources.

I have an amazing experience on campus, which sure has been one transformable experience. The combination of strict academic and interesting co-curricular activities makes each day an exciting adventure. Long night studies are one of the libraries, catching up with friends at the campus café, preparation for a cultural event all have very exciting things happening every time. It has good crowd, as there are "n" numbers of departments. CU also host amazing fests and events with top notch Celebrities recently Siddharth Malhotra launches his brand-new movie song at CU Campus. Every day, CU has events, as there are various departments. So you will never feel bored here. there is Separate International Cell (Department) which only deals with foreign exchange or student transfer programs
