CU Chandigarh B.A.LL.B Program: Curriculum, Internships, and More

The factor that made me choose Chandigarh University is its affordable course fee as compared to other law Universities. Overall the course is having a great curriculum with practical and theoretical knowledge. The University provides internship and placement assistance as internship from second semester onwards. Moot court competitions happen frequently and this provides an understanding of the court mannerism, proceedings and structure. Drafting and research work is also taught.

The course I chose is B.A.LL.B at Chandigarh University. The Eligibility criterion is at least 75% in 10+2 exams. Admission is to be taken through CUCET exam which provides you with scholarship based on the score you acquire, once done with it you get an interview call to be finalized. Exams are held semester wise and this includes two mid semester tests and one end semester exam. Academics include practical exposure to the legal field through compulsory internships.

The fee for the course is Rs. 1,80,000 per year. It is divided into two parts, sem 1 and 2, which is Rs. 90,000 per sem. The fee includes tuition fees and examination fee, admission fees and other charges which are not included. Scholarships are also provided through CUCET exam.

The faculty members at Chandigarh University are very knowledgeable with great qualifications from renowned Universities. They have good educational background from national as well as international Universities. Their method of teaching includes blackboard discussions, PPT’s and verbal lectures to make students understand the concepts. Problem solving ability of the faculty is remarkable as they've great knowledge about the field so they actually help with research work. The teacher student ratio is roughly around 2:5 The faculty is approachable and understanding. They help you with course subjects as well as outside course subject like research papers and articles.

The Chandigarh University infrastructure is very well established with designated libraries in each block. The libraries include Wi-Fi connectivity, charging ports, new books and air conditioning. Cafeterias are accessible from every block with affordable prices. Almost every block has its own auditorium and course related events and workshops take place over there. University includes a dispensary as well and ambulance system for health related services. The campus includes ATMs as well as SBI, AXIS and HDFC bank. Overall, the campus infrastructure is modern and well maintained with beautiful architecture.

The overall life at Chandigarh University is like any other University that you see in the movies. The University crowd is a mix of students from every state including international students. Students from every part of the country are taking admission here to pursue their higher education. There are many clubs like dance, theatre, music, singing, art and other clubs like DACA, DSW which deals with student organizing during fests. Annual CU fest is organized at a large scale involving the whole University.
