I have just completed my first semester and my overall experience was great at GD Goenka University. Factors that made me choose this particular university is world class infrastructure, great faculty, ample number of opportunities and even every student is provided with a personal mentor (he/she is part of the faculty only). Mentor helps the student to solve all the problems faced by a student. The university is slightly expensive but gives you so many opportunities to fulfill all your dreams.

I have chosen B.Tech CSE (AI&ML) and as everyone knows there is online era going on and later on also everything will be online and technical and I personally think if have great knowledge about this. You can earn a good amount of money and upgrade your lifestyle through this course. Admission process is very smooth and is done in a much organised way. For my course there are mid semester examinations which are of 30 marks and passing’s marks is 12 and end semester examinations are of 60 marks and passing marks is 24. Exams are not that easy, the level is toughness of exam is moderate and there is 2 days gap between end semester examinations and no gap between mid semester examinations. The academics prepare us for real life challenges. There is ample number of events organised by university and tech fests too which helps us to think and work practically and accordingly.

Fees structure at GD Goenka University for my course is as follows : Rs. 2,80,000 for 1st year, Rs. 2,80,000 for 2nd year, Rs. 3,80,00 for 3rd year and 3,80,00 for 4th year. Admission fees are Rs. 25,000 and security money is also Rs. 25,000 which is returned back to you after 4 years once you are done with your graduation. Yes, discounts are provided to SC/ST and other specific category students. Yes scholarships are also provided to students who really need it and are capable of it, even 100% scholarship is also given to students who are worth it and really need it.

At GD Goenka University, Faculty of my course is faculty from school of engineering and sciences and indeed the faculty is great. They are kind, helpful, understanding and patient with each and every student. The teaching method is also great using projectors, presentations which enhances the learning process and makes it more interesting and helps student understand better whatever is taught in class. The lab classes are also there which helps us to apply our theoretical knowledge into practical use. Debates and quizzes are also held inside the classroom only to make sure every student is getting the concepts. They are approachable and help you with all your problems/doubts. One or the other teacher is always present for solving the doubts, etc.

Yes, there is placement cell available in the GD Goenka University which makes sure that how many number of companies are going to visit the campus and did every student got the chance for placement interview or not, etc. There is placement training classes every week to prepare us for the time of placement. The highest packages offered was 40.8 LPA, average package offered was 8 LPA and lowest package was 4 LPA. I am in first year my placement training is going on currently. Renowned companies that have visited GD Goenka University are Amazon, Airtel, Deloitte, Flipkart, Infosys, and many more.

Yes, GD Goenka University does provide residential facilities to the students. There are 3 to 4 buildings for girl’s hostel and 3 to 4 buildings for boy’s hostel. The girls and boys hostels are separate. The quality of mess food is good and they do make sure of hygiene while preparing food. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner is provided to the hostellers in the mess. hostel fees depends on what room you choose to stay in as there are facilities for single room, double sharing, triple sharing and bunk bed room (approx 15-20 students in a room/hall). Hostel rules are strict. No one is allowed to exit the campus without parents’ permission or without an out pass. Wardens make sure that every student feels safe and follow all the rules and regulations of the hostel. No I am not staying at the hostel but many of my friends are and they feel good and safe there. Also there is a cafe inside the campus only for hostellers and gym and pool facilities are also provided to the hostellers.

There are blocks according to courses and fields. There are in total 7 schools some of which are School of Engineering and Sciences, School of Law, School of Agriculture, etc. Campus is in 60 acres which is a large area. Classrooms are also very spacious and each classroom contains projectors. Library, labs, auditorium, amphitheatre and conference hall, all are present inside the campus. Quality of food of canteen is great and is quiet affordable. Medical facilities are also present in the campus. There are guards present everywhere. my favorite part is the garden area. University contains gardens which are so pretty and well maintained.

Overall campus life is great indeed. The crowd at GD Goenka University is also good. There are locals, foreigners and people from other state too. Yes, there are many clubs present such as photography club, fashion club, dance club, music club, astronomy club, NSS (National Service Scheme) and many more. I am part of NSS which is really nice club and takes us on drive in nearby villages and it's basically for people who love doing social work. Extracurricular activities are also there as amazing fests and events are organised for students. Reva is the fresher’s party, Udyami is the Diwali fest which also gives you opportunity to put up a stall and earn money and showcase your talent. Great experience indeed.
