IGDTUW: Courses, Fees, and Opportunities

The overall experience is good. IGDTUW provides a variety of courses such as B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan, BBA, MBA, etc. The average and highest packages are increasing every year. 1.2 CPA CTC was the highest international package the previous year. I feel the college will be introduced higher packages if the student is bona fide, skilled and has good communication skills. In addition, it is a highly recommended college for girls as the overall fee of the courses is also less without compromising the annual packages offered. Yes, a down point, I would mention, is that the societies are less active. Sometimes, it is very exhausting for students to survive with less number of fests. After all, what matters is the package and it is perfect for girls here.

I have taken admission in this university by giving JEE entrance exam. The university has introduced additional subjects like communication skills, soft skills in the first year itself. In addition, it has introduced some of these subjects in first year which was earlier used to be introduced Teachers are very dedicated. For example, in communication skills subject, you will be doing presentations, group discussions, the rules, do's and don’ts, ethics to communication, etc.

The seat acceptance fee of Rs. 95,000 is paid to JAC Delhi (responsible for seat allocation to top students in top 5 colleges of Delhi). Then, Rs.10,000 were deducted by JAC and remaining amount is adjusted in college’s tuition fee. The remaining fee including tuition fee, hostel fee and other charges are taken after your admission in the college, before the beginning of the sessions. In my case, it was Rs. 49,500 (remaining fee in B.Tech. ECE). Lateral entries are also allowed provided there is a minimum percentage or CGPA criteria.

Teachers are very good and educated. Most are having a good nature and good problem solving skills. Their teaching style is excellent. Method of teaching varies accordingly based on the teachers, their subjects, and specific topics of the subjects. For example-If one has to teach something online, he/she provides PDFs online and then reaches orally and if one has to make students see things and then understand, he/she will use projectors. For Math, it is mostly taught on black and white boards.

Placements of IGDTUW are excellent. It is becoming popular for the same these days. Having less fee, the placement statistics are shocking. Students were offered 56 LPA is the highest package and 20 LPA per annum is the lowest package in India. 1.2 CPA is the highest international package. Hence, the students only need to be skilled and worthy for the placements. The companies like Google, Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Intuit, Uber, DELL, Nestle, etc. are already offering higher packages.

The university has 2 girl’s hostels located within the campus. Their names are Krishna and Kaveri. These have capacity to accommodate approximately 300 students. Hostels provide a safe, secure, and clean environment. Female guards are always present outside the hostels to ensure the safety of every girl and note the timings of going and coming back to hostels. They are provided with food on specific times two or three times a day and full time water and electricity supply.

The classrooms are spacious and can accommodate 60 to 80 students. Various books are available and can be borrowed for 6 months and 15 days. Auditorium and seminar hall is quite spacious, well built, and beautiful with a podium on the stage. There is a good facility of transport and medical. The canteens, although, are not spacious. There is no space around them to sit. I think the building of some blocks should be more maintained and renovated. They are below average. My favorite part is the ground and greenery.

Campus life is very good. IGDTUW is mostly crowded. Various societies are there to teach students about entrepreneurship, economy management, technical skills, AI, dance, singing, fashion, and many more other than academics. I am the part of fashion club called Zena. It organizes Taarangana, a cultural event, and a sports event every year. Students over hundreds of colleges come to celebrate these events together and have a lot of fun (dancing, eating, and singing). Debates and group discussions are always being arranged for students to enhance their communication skills and make them more confident. The overall campus life is good. In my view, there should be fests happening in the college at particular intervals of college.
