IGDTUW New Delhi: Empowering Women in Technology

IGDTUW New Delhi is first and only Women Technical University in the nearby area. Until now, my overall experience has been good. Teachers and seniors are helpful as they guide in various domains. I am learning new things and making friends. The campus is safe and helpful. I feel good while studying technology here. It is a nice place to learn and grow. It is amazing to see women growing in technology. In addition, I love coding and computing since school days.

I chose the course of B.Tech with Computer Science. Admission was done on basis of JAC Counseling based on our JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) rank. Exams are taken semester wise. Each semester is of 6 months with one end semester and one mid semester exam. Syllabus is totally industry skills oriented. New changes are made to focus om building our skills. We have workshops, seminars and various hackathons and Ideathons, which give more opportunity to solve real world problems.

Fee is paid year wise. Yearly fee usually is Rs. 1,50,000. Other than this, hostel fee is to be paid separately.

Faculty is good. They teach us well, cover the syllabus on time, and help us prepare for exams. They clarify our doubts and provide guidance. Because of their efforts, we get good grades and a high CGPA. They make learning easy and interesting, which helps us understand complex concepts. They are easily approachable. Many students work under the guidance of teachers for research papers, etc. There are smart boards as well as blackboards. PPTs and group discussions also occur.

Yes, there is a training and placement cell. It conducts timely workshops and seminars for skill development. The cell also provides information about requirements of various companies during placement drive. Highest package was of Computer science branch 56 LPA by Adobe. This was 2024 batch data.

Yes, university provides hostel accommodation but seats are limited. Mess food is fine. Students are not allowed to go after 8 PM. I am not a hosteller so I do not know much about it.

IGDTUW New Delhi has well ventilated buildings, huge campus, and a really beautiful and grand auditorium. The infrastructure reminds us of British era. The labs were well equipped when I was there.

The university organizes its annual cultural fest in the month of January while the technical fest is organized during the month of March. Other events are organized during the year with no specific schedule. A lot of participation comes around in the two events though, and the diversity of domains of application teaches you many things, bundled with a lot of fun. On the days of these events, each student comes together in a perfect harmony and celebrates the hard work that each one of them had put in. Moreover, the university now has industry-supported projects going on at least in the Mechanical Department, I am not sure about depths.
