VESIT Mumbai: Fee Structure and Scholarships Explained

My overall experience at Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Technology is decent because I haven't faced any difficulty till now. The factors that made me choose this institute is the institute is in Mumbai, its accepts CET scores and the cutoffs are high and overall decent placements in 2022. The different thing about this institute is that it understands the changing needs of the industry and hence gives us more vacation after semester like 2~3 months so that we can work on our skills and the semester exams are also quite easy due to the institute being autonomous.

I have chosen the ECS that is Electronics and Computer Science course. My motive is that I am interested in software as well as hardware. The entry requirements is that the institute accepts JEE as well as CET scores although the JEE seats are quite less. The admission process is done through merit that is the CAP round and not any management although there is a 50% Sindhi minority quota. The frequency of exams is, there is a midterm exam and an end-semester exam for each semester and quizzes are also organised here. The academics prepare you for real life challenges as the curriculum is vast due to the institute being autonomous.

My fees for one full year or two semesters are Rs. 1, 24,000. The fees include everything and no other fees are taken after that, I can assure you that. Special discounts are as follows – Rs. 70000 fees for OBC & EWS students and only Rs. 4000 fees for SC/ST category students. The scholarships are given to students with a CGPA of 7+ and annual income of less than 3 lakh by the institute and it's almost Rs. 15000.

The faculty members of Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Technology for my branch are very helpful and knowledgeable. The main faculty is the Yogesh Pandit sir and Sarika ma’am. Their background is very good like they have done Ph.D. The method of teaching mostly involves teaching though ppts and group discussions. The faculty has good problem solving skills. The teacher student ratio at Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Technology is almost 1:20. The faculty is quite approachable and you can come to them with any questions including real life problems and they will come up with solutions.

The placement cell is managed department wise. Ours is the ECS one. The cell helps the students prepare the exams like mostly aptitude clearing rounds. Various placements related programs are conducted at the institute through our placement cell. The companies that visit institute include Deloitte, TCS, Berkeley’s, Cognizant, and many more. The highest package offered was 17 LPA while the average package remains 4 LPA. I still haven't got placed as I’m in third year but the placement is mostly dependent on your skills as I have heard from my peers and seniors.

Yes, Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Technology offers residential facilities for 1st and 2nd year students only. The total rooms are enough to accommodate around 200 students and every 4 students have one room, so total 50 rooms. The facilities are quite good like Wi-Fi, AC and hygienic bathrooms. The recreational activities for hostellers include a turf present in the management building. The girls hostel and boy’s hostel is separate. The mess food is quite good and it's very hygienic, it's there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hostel fees annually are Rs. 2, 00,000 which includes mess fee as well. The hostel timings are that nobody is allowed after 11 pm and rules are quite strict.

The campus has 2 blocks of building; each has 7 floors for engineering. The campus size is overall average and it's located in a prime area in Chembur. Although it is a much polluted area because of the nearby industries. The classrooms have a seating capacity of 80 students. Academics facilities like library, labs and auditorium are quite well maintained, the rest of the infrastructure is good. The bathrooms are also very well maintained thanks to the cleaning staff. Canteen food is good; there is a turf for football and a ground for cricket and sports activities. Medical aid is available always. Security is not that strict and transport is good, there are various ways to reach institute although institute is far away from station. My favorite thing is the football turf and facility that complements teaching that are the E-boards and projectors made available in the classrooms.

The overall campus life is decent and good. The institute crowd is good as only people with high percentile and merit are accepted here. Yes, there are various student clubs; I was a part of the social club. There are mostly 4 important clubs - cultural, sports, music and social. The activities include the ILLUSION organised every year by students of Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Technology which is the largest annual event. Other extracurricular activities include industrial and field visits. My experience of campus life has been good so far.
