DIEMS Aurangabad: Courses, Fees, and Faculty

DIEMS was established in 2009, and is a private college located in Aurangabad. It is one of the reputed colleges in Marathwada. It is a part of Marathwada Sikhshan Prasarak Mandal. It is affiliated by Dr. Babasahed Ambedkar Technical University, Lonere and is approved by AICTE. It has also been graded as A++ by NAAC. It offers engineering and MBA courses. It is a very well known college.

I have enrolled in the course of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The faculty members and the college is very strict when it comes to discipline. Students are not allowed to bunk lectures, if they do it then parents are informed immediately by the class teacher. One better thing is there that is the lecture is conducted regularly. Even if a faculty is absent some other faculties are arranged to take the lecture. Lectures are never cancelled. Many different programs for personal development and included in the academics and also a section for do it yourself is provided that lets students learn things related to their field while they try to do it by themselves. The syllabus of AIML was designed by the college faculty itself and is up to the industry standards.

The fee varies from student to student as different scholarships are provided. The fee of engineering is Rs. 1 lakh, which includes the development fee, tuition fees, etc. The fee can be paid in 4 installments, 2 installments per semester. Different scholarships are provided to students who are eligible.

Most of the faculty members hold advanced degree such as Master and Doctorate. They are very friendly and experienced. They are always ready to help the students. Luckily we never had a strict teacher. All teachers are very good at teaching. They use different methods to teach sometimes they teach on board sometimes uses presentations, or ask the students to execute the codes in class itself and check the outputs. The teaching method is two ways where student's interaction has huge importance.

Hostel facility is offered by the college itself. I have seen the boys hostel but the girls hostel is very good. It is well furnished. There are 3 occupants in a room. Washrooms are provided in each room itself, cleaning staff is available for its cleaning. Water coolers are provided on each floor. Solar water system is insulated to provide hot water and every floor has gysers too for backup. The mess is located inside the hostel building. It provides nutritional meals twice a day. Snacks are taken according to our need it is not compulsory. The fee of hostel and mess is Rs. 55,000 yearly. This is worth it. The hostel is very strict about check in , check out and daily attendance where the warden comes to your room and checks every face. No outside students are allowed and the hostel is very secure. It has 3 gates to go out of the campus. The in time is 7pm, no one is allowed to come after that, or else parents are called.

Earlier we used to criticize our college infrastructure, but after visiting other colleges we found our college is very good. The building has 4 floor and basement. College is equipped with all necessary labs and a workshop which is outside the building. A canteen is provided in the campus itself and the hostel is in the campus. The building is well ventilated and has good network. No outside students are allowed in the campus and the guards check id card at the gate and only allow students to enter.

I was not ready to study here. I used to feel alone but eventually college started and I made friends. The crowd here is decent. I won’t say that it is very good because yes, there are always some unwanted people everywhere. There are different clubs and NCC. College organizes a yearly fest and many other technical as well as non technical fests throughout the year.
