FORE School of Management PGDM Review By Bhupendra Meena

Nothing is perfect but still there’s not much that can be added to FORE’s armaments. There was not a single sombre moment at FORE Delhi as each day was an event in itself. Everything has gone well in those two years while I was pursuing PGDM from FORE. B-Schools DNA is checked before anyone take admissions as even after a tough criteria of getting admissions, investment is so high for joining B-Schools, that a research becomes mandatory. I already made a mistake once by not connecting with alumni before joining but when I talked to alumni of FORE, I only got positive feedbacks as most of them were doing pretty well in their life. For FORE even the naysayers don’t have much to say because at least in Delhi it’s definitely one of the best. If I do peer comparison with FMS, NDIM, or IIFT, only FMS Delhi is ranked above FORE. Well, the rankings are not the only parameters as placements and curriculum mattered me more and after joining, I saw that curriculum is updated here because the whole course is designed keeping the industry demand in front.

One can’t be bare footed here because you will not be walking but running through the studies. The reason why I am making such a big fuss of hardships that one has to face because students are not adapted to approach of this format of studies. We even had engineers in our class and even they said that they are sick and tired of doing so many assignments and workshops. Just turning the corner or flicking the switch is not how PGDM studies are done and at least at FORE you have to be alert or make sure that your batteries are charged. On days, I have spent 7-8 hours at the classes, then have waited at seminars for 2-3 hours for getting my turn for presentations. Then waited for my friends for their turn, so 12-13 hours in the college was also not a big deal at FORE. This is how tough the academics are at FORE.

The faculties had the personnel to make us adapt to this non-stop approach of studies. The personnel made us ready to challenge the best because in Delhi events are organized regularly in the form of inter collegiate programs and if we fail to bring home the medals, our faculties would not spare us. Faculties gave us no choice but to be tactically spot on. On the whole we just wanted confidence because one can get through any hard yard but the catch is that there has to be some food at the end. The food is placements here and our faculties who had good connection ensured us that no one will go without a job offer if they prepare as they have been asked to. They remained on their words as even the students who failed to get placements from campus were helped immensely by our decorated faculties.

Companies like ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Reckitt Benckiser (I) Pvt. Ltd, and Kotak Mahindra Bank are few of the 100 companies that visited the campus for placements. 2018 was the year of FORE as students were placed in numbers and by numbers, I mean over 90% for sure from the campus. The average placements were around 8 lakhs as most students had placements of 10 lakhs or perhaps more. After everything that was cooked in first three semesters, if there was no dessert, the whole food would have looked tasteless. Luckily, FORE is meant to serve tasty stuffs be it academics, placements, or canteen.

Hostel was at a few distance from the college but I am thankful that it wasn’t at the campus. We hardly got time to unwind and if it was at the campus, I don’t think, I would have even got a single minute to spare my mind off studies. Yes, there were few studious ones in fact more students were in that category. From security, to food to rooms everything was taken care of brilliantly and therefore I had a very pleasant stay at the hostels.

FORE campus is relatively small or rather very small. However, the campus looked like somewhere in London as the building was out of this world. A corporate building that had cubicle rooms, discussion rooms, board rooms, and recreational activities room. All the rooms including the classes were so advanced that matching them will take some doing for any college. Even the canteen named Chat UP was great but was always full during the breaks.

Campus Life was different here because it was more like a sense of urgency among the students. The urgency to go to the classes or seminar halls. So, the word urgency became a synonym with the students of FORE. Our annual fest Genesis saw many other colleges participation too but as always FORE was winner in most of the competitions.
