FORE School of Management PGDM Review By Nishika Shah

After losing all my faith in engineering, I decided to go for management studies as my brother was an MBA and he was doing quite well in his life. You will never feel settled here as the college will make you do things nonstop. FORE School of Management is a completely different college because when I used to share our way of studies and everything about my college, he was like, I wish I could have had the same set of things to do. Well, tactically, the college has made some rich changes to its curriculum as rather than doing random projects, the college has asked their partner companies to send projects for students which went to the respective companies for checking. One thing that I have always been a fan of is junior-senior bonding and very soon, I made good friends with my seniors who helped me throughout even after they left the college. My life far from home never looked any lesser as I knew I have people around me who will take complete care of me.

If one wants to know what nonstop is then please rather than going to a pub that plays nonstop music, I want to invite them to the FORE campus for a week. I bet their definition of nonstop will change as in my previous college, the weekends were off but here even Sundays were not spared. The faculties would be like, oh this is left so let’s have extra classes on Sunday. Engineering students are finding difficulty in getting through this topic, so let’s have some classes on Sunday. Well, the harsh rules and some different sets of things that we made here looked nonsense at times but now I know they were the most sensible things that we did then. So, from my end, academics of FORE gets thumbs up.

I was listening to Enrique’s song recently, why oh why when it was meant to be? Well, I want to ask the faculty why oh why you didn’t even spare our Sundays? I was in Delhi for two years and even today when people ask me about some places to visit in and around Delhi and some food joints in Delhi, I hardly have much to share with them. Well, they did all of that for our sake because if Sundays were not spared means theirs too were spoiled. They all have had their families but still, they kept students their priority. How much ever I curse them, from the bottom of my heart, I will always have steep respect for them.

The placements were anything but no less than substantial. Look the college may claim it has a 100% placement record but that was the only thing that was not true as everything other than that like all the companies that they have mentioned on ads or their site was true. Even the average package of 8-9 lakhs is true and the highest package of 22 lakhs too was true. So, the placements of FORE were appreciable to the core because if I wasn’t placed, my parents wouldn’t have spared me for sure.

The hostels were off-campus here but the hostel was amazing. I used to live in separate residence halls for boys and girls but Delhi is advanced and they have a common building for boys and girls. Well, the building was common but not the rooms. The floors were in accordance as the ground floor had warden rooms and security guards while the 1st two floors had rooms for girls. The rooms were on twin sharing and the food served was in the common area of the hostel. Hostel had time restrictions but otherwise, we were free to play music or have parties inside the hostels.

After living on such a serene campus, I came to a campus that ended before it started. The main building was amazing though as from library to auditorium, the building facilities were upright. The sports facilities were so slim that the ground at best could be used to play Kho-Kho or Kabaddi and we had a good basketball court. The canteen was right up there as that was in a way student lounge because that was an area to mingle with friends and seniors. The campus was small but had all facilities on it.

Events of Delhi colleges are something else. Red carpet things which is an unknown thing for I am sure any college in Gujarat is a common sight in Delhi colleges. FORE’s events were just too hot to handle as the students who were always seen in formals had all that they want to wear for the events. I had an absolute pleasure spending every second that I spent there. The hostel wasn’t inside the campus but I enjoyed my stay there too.
