University of Allahabad: India's Fourth Oldest University

University of Allahabad established on 23rd September 1887, it is the fourth oldest university of India after Calcutta, Bombay, and Madras University. University of Allahabad is central university in Prayagraj. In 1923, the government decided to acquire the property of the Indian press for the university at the cost seven lakh rupees. This property comprised the present building of the philosophy department, the department of med. /mod. history and the spacious buildings in which there was formerly the proctor’s office, post office and some rooms which are shared by the Political Science, Med. /Mod. History, Ancient History and Hindi Departments.

I have chosen BA Course at University of Allahabad. The BA program is a three year undergraduate program. The BA program is offered in 27 specializations, including English, Psychology, Political Science, Hindi, and Sanskrit. Admission to the BA program is based on a valid score in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). A BA degree is a Baccalaureate degree that focuses on liberal arts and studies.

There is different fee structure for different courses and specialisation.

Faculty members at University of Allahabad teach very well and gracefully. The background of faculty members is very great and wonderful. Their teaching method includes Blackboards, PPTs, Group discussions, etc. They conduct integral exam also. The problem solving abilities of the faculty is very graceful. The teacher ratio at the university is around 300 and student ratio at the university is around 10,000+. My Experience and bonding with the faculty members is really very excellent and great. I will suggest others to take admission in University of Allahabad.

The placements at University of Allahabad are great.

University of Allahabad offers hostel facilities. There are separate hostels for Girls and boys. Mess food that is offered here is totally hygienic. Hostel fee is around Rs. 15,000 per year for both girls and boys. Hostel gate closes at 10:00 pm. I have heard from my friends it was all over good.

Campus size is really very huge and big. It is located in main area of Prayagraj. Classrooms at the campus were really very big and there are lots of spaces for students to study. The seating capacity is efficient for the students. Academic Facility is also available like library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, etc. Canteen, sports, Medical facilities, Transport facilities, security and other facilities available at campus are really very good. My favorite place of the university is my university ground. In the Senate House campus the Union Hall, the Old Guest House, the building of Commerce Department, the NSS Building, the buildings of Ancient History Culture, Archaeology Department, Political Science Department, Department of Oriental Language are new constructions.

My Overall campus life is very exciting and grateful. University of Allahabad has a huge crowd. No, there is no club in the university. Yes, Engagement activities (Extracurricular activities) are organised by University like sports competition, Quiz competition, Art competition, singing competition, etc. Fests, Events, annual festival and other festivals are also celebrated at the university. My Experiences about the campus life of the university is Wonderful, Amazing, and full of enjoyment.
