MLSU Udaipur: Fee Structure and Financial Aid

MLSU is overall a good University to earn a degree from. It is a government affiliated University under Rajasthan University. It has huge campus and all necessary facilities. The reason for me to choose this University was that it was situated near to residence. Also it is a government University which charges less fee as compared to private Universities. Majority of the students living in Udaipur or near Udaipur study here for their bachelor's degree. It has a huge campus which is absent in private Universities in Udaipur.

I chose Bachelors of Arts for my under graduation. My reason to opt the course was to prepare for competitive exams as the subjects create a base for it. Also along with my University I get a lot of time to prepare for other exams. There is no such eligibility criteria for admission in University for my course. Admission is done from online medium through MLSU website itself. Exams in my graduation are annually but from the 2023 batch exams are made semester wise. The course I opted has core subjects like history, political, geography, etc. which creates a base for my civil services preparation. It does not help us as such for real life challenges as there is job security after graduation.

In my graduation I paid Rs. 4,000 to 5,000 annually which included tuition fee, admission fees, registration fees, other charges, etc. Other than that I paid Rs. 4,000 to 6,000 for exam form. I got admission on government seat with OBC reservation. This was a considerable amount of concession for my category. There are reservations for STs, SCs, OBC, EWS, women, etc. Students get financial aid and scholarships based on merit and category they belong from.

Faculty members are experienced and also interns who taught us are good. Faculty has a specialized degree (i.e. MA, hons., Ph.D, etc. in their respective department. They use the traditional method for teaching i.e. using the blackboard. Teachers solve doubts of every student. They teach us in Hindi and this was a problem for English medium students. There were 3 teachers over 100 students. We could easily approach professors by meeting them in their respective departments.

BA does provide for any immediate placements. Although other Universities under MLSU has placement opportunities.

Yes, University has many hostels for students of different courses. They have hygienic, livable rooms, proper security, etc. I was a student from the city itself that is why I never got a chance to stay in hostel. Hostel for girls and boys are separated at a distance.

MLSU campus has various academic blocks for different courses. It is a University that has many schools / colleges under it in the same locality. It has a huge campus area. It is located near main Udaipur city and is well connected through transportation system. It has classroom with a seating capacity to 80 to 100 students. Academic facilities like library is located in the campus itself and it is free of cost to access its books. Labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, etc are at 2 minutes walking distance from academic area. Canteen serves hygienic food. There are sports tournament every now and then happening in the University. There is a well connected transportation system and security is maintained well. From my perspective, the library is the most peaceful place to study.

According to my experience University life is very good. I am in the last year of my University with that I can say that I enjoyed my University life along with focusing on academics. University is usually crowded with outsiders as there is no proper checking. There is a student union ABVP which works for student's benefit and against the system if it violates the rights of students. There are a variety of events and fests and extracurricular activities organized by University such as cultural festivals, fashion shows, seminar, art exhibition, etc. The campus was big enough to roam around and bunk classes as there was no proper discipline regarding attendance.
