A decent college.

Overall Rating
I chose Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran because I wanted to complete my B.Tech at an affordable price and go for higher studies. Therefore it is a decent option for students who want to complete their B.Tech or get a decent placement. I have had a good experience so far in this college. Presently I am in 2nd year while writing this review. The social cultural inside this college is quite diverse and friendly.
 

Academics Rating
I am currently pursuing bachelor of technology in computer science and engineering with specialization in artificial intelligence and machine learning. I chose this course because it was more industry relevant and trending in job market. The admission process in this college is quite simple because there is no selection criterion. The enrollment in the course is done through direct admission without a donation amount. There are two mid semester examinations in a semester followed by a final semester examination. There is nothing exceptional about the academics taught in this college.
The fee structure for bachelor of technology is Rs. 64,500 per semester at Chandigarh Group of Colleges. I have availed for hostel which costs around Rs. 65,000 per semester. Scholarship is offered to few students who come under 'below poverty line' category. During the admission process a registration fee of Rs. 11,000 was charged which was later deducted from the first semester fees.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the teaching faculties at Chandigarh Group of Colleges are good while some of them are not. The good ones are quite interested in teaching and are eager to solve doubts. Some of the teachers are not interested in teaching. They just come to take attendance and give the lecture. Their method of teaching includes using whiteboard, PPTs and also group discussions when required. The teaching faculties are qualified with a master’s degree. The teacher-student ratio is 85 is to 15. Overall the faculty qualities are decent.
 

Placement Rating
The internship opportunities are offered in 3rd year (not quite prominent though). The placement opportunities are offered in the 4th year. The companies which come for placements are Infosys, Wipro, Walmart, Mahindra etc. The average package is 4 – 5 LPA. The college offers training and placement program, (TPP) @8000rs. Second and third year is to prepare students for the placements.
 

Hostel Rating
I availed for the hostel in the first semester and have been residing since. The hostel infrastructure is decent. It is well maintained through timely and proper cleaning. Rooms are cleaned once every week while the washrooms and the hall on each floor is cleaned every day. The hostel mess food is of decent quality.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college campus infrastructure is decent. There are various blocks for various departments. All the buildings are white in color which gives a certain kind of aesthetic look. There is greenery all round with parks. The campus size is a bit small as compared to other popular private or government colleges but with good diversity. In the campus they have an auditorium, seminar hall, central library, labs, dispensary, canteen, sports block, stationery shop and various other small shops. There are also transport facilities like buses and ambulance. The security around the campus is good.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life experience at Chandigarh Group of Colleges is good. The college campus is a bit crowded and that might also be due to its comparatively small size. There are various clubs in which students can join. These clubs organize various extracurricular activities and small events in the college campus all around the semester. The major annual events are fresher party and Parivartan which are held in the month of August/September and October respectively.

    Chandigarh group of colleges is way better in studies then other colleges. Teachers here are strict as well as kind. The Infrastructure is impressive and quality education is provided in the college. I don't think other colleges really focus on studies. As long as studies are considered they focus on student’s personal growth by participating in events and always motivating them whenever there is a need.     For the students who are looking for private colleges, CGC Landran is a decent choice for B.Tech and other courses like BCA, MBA, Hotel Management, etc. When I took admission in this college, I came to know that it is situated in a developed city.     CGC is the college with vast variety and opportunities for the future. The training and education here is amazing. The teachers are very supportive. Many events are held here on a big level. The fee structure of this college is approximately 1 lakh with no extra fee for curriculum activities.
