Fee Structure and Scholarship at IIITDM Jabalpur

Overall, I can say IIITDM Jabalpur is a very good institute. It has all the things required for a good campus life be it academics or sports. I had chosen this institute because it was the best possible option in my rank of JEE also seeing all the factors of the institute I had chosen it. The institute has very good environment away from noise of city and pollution free air. I love the institute and the surroundings.

My branch is Smart Manufacturing. Smart Manufacturing deals with modern day manufacturing methods principals and how can we automate them using the concepts of industry 4.0. For example, additive manufacturing, Cyber physical system, internet of things (IOT), Industrial internet of things (IIOT), etc. For getting into IIITDM Jabalpur, you have to give JEE Main and get a rank in the range of 40k to 50k. There are also other branches like Computer Science & engineering, Electronics & communication engineering, and Mechanical engineering for these branches; you have to get a rank in range of 7k to 13k, 10k to 18k, and 25k to 40k respectively. After JEE Main, you have to register for JoSAA counseling with, you can choose this and many other IIITs, IITs and NITs. Here, all the courses have 8 semesters in which we have 2 major exams each semester, which are mid sem, and end sem and many courses include quiz 1 and quiz 2, along with projects. It give hands on experience of the subject. The course work of the institute is good which will help you to enhance your hardcore engineering skills.

The fee of the course depends whether you are from a category (SC, ST, Gen-EWS, and PwD). If you are under this category, fee is less compared to general category students. Institute gives tuition fees waiver SC, ST, and PwD category students. For general students, the 4-year B.Tech fee along with hostel and mess is Rs. 8,57,500 and for category students , it is Rs. 2,83,500. There are many scholarships provided in the institute like MCM (Merit Cum Means), etc. to help students with their fees.

Most of the faculty here are assistant professors, who have done their studies from very good institutes from aboard and domestic. Under our department, there are 3 professors who have designation of Professors and not assistant or associate. All the teachers are very good and helpful in the subjects. They encourage us to think out of the box right from 1st semester onwards. this helps us to enhance our creativity. For problem solving, we have extra tutorial classes, which are conducted by the M.Tech or PhD students under the faculty who is teaching us. They help in problem solving and are very helpful and always ready to help. If we talk about teacher student ratio, there is a teacher to every 7 students. My experience until now is very nice with all the faculty members. They always explain my doubts properly regarding any subject, I am having problems with.

Placement cell is working hard. From past 3 years, our median package is going up only and not down. Last year the median package of institute was 16 LPA. Though the students who are placed are mainly from Computer Science engineering branch, other branch students also are placed but not more than 75% or 80%. Many new startups come on campus for campus placements and internship opportunities. Companies like Meesho and Samsung come in campus for various roles Software development engineer, Business analyst, trainee, etc. This year that is for 2021 batch, the highest on campus placement is of 43 LPA. I am currently in my pre final year and I am preparing for CAT exam alongside for Business analyst roles.

Indian Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Jabalpur is a complete residential campus. All the students and faculties live inside the campus in hostels and faculty quarters respectively. Boys have 4 hostels: Vashisht hostel, Hall of residence 1, Aryabhatta hostel, Hall of residence 3, Vivekanand Hostel, or Hall of residence 4, Panini Hostel. H1 is for Final year boys, H3 is for 1st year boys, H 4 is for 2nd year boys and Panini hostel is for pre final year boys that is 3rd year boys. For girls, there are two hostels, which are namely Maa Saraswati Hostel and Nagarjuna hostel. Maa Saraswati hostel has final year and 1st year girls where as Nagarjuna hostel has second and pre final year girls. It has central mess, which offers both non-veg and veg options to students. The mess food is not bad it’s okish only and hygienic. Mess offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in which during lunch and dinner. Students can avail the service of extra payment food if they don’t like that day's mess menu. All the hostels have curfew timing of 10:30 PM. My experience of hostels is good only. The rooms are spacious and all facilities are good which are good water, rooms, table, chair, and a bed. Hall 1 and Panini have single rooms and for Hall 3 and Hall 4 there are triple sharing rooms, which are very spacious for 3 students to stay.

The institute has a lush green campus of over 250 acres land. The academic blocks are very well built. The lecture hall tutorial complex is a very good infrastructure. The administration building is very nice. Campus is located around 11 KM away from Jabalpur railway station and around 8 km from the city and 4 KM from the airport. Classrooms are very spacious for all the batches in which all classrooms are smart classrooms. Library has a very good collection of all the course work along with fiction books and novels. Labs are well equipped, Auditorium is very large and nice just like and Inbox movie hall. All the hostels have canteen with a place called Nescafe where you can get all the kinds of snacks. There is a Primary Health care centre in institute, which is always open 24/7 for students. City is well connected with bus system in institute. The favorite part of institute is our lecture halls they are very large and good with AC.

Overall, Campus life is good. All kinds of activities and fests happen in institute along with celebrating all festivals, which help us to remain away from our home and be with our age students as a family. The crowd of institute is good. Everyone is competitive and all are busy with their studies, placements, and sports. There are many clubs like Business and management club, Astronomy and physics club, Samvaad the literary club, Jazbaat the dramatics club, Saaz the singing club, Aavartan the dance and all the others are for sports like cricket, badminton, football, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis, carom, chess, etc. The clubs are amazing place to go and learn with seniors and enjoy campus life. Institute organizes many events in campus to keep students engaged. My overall experience of campus life is very good.
