Overall Rating
Overall my experience at SGU has been good. It has one of the best campus in kolhapur district. The Campus has decent infrastructure and advanced labs. I chose this college because of its good reputation, focus are learning as well as social events and sports activities. The environment is very supportive and it is a great place for overall growth. It has facilities like gym, library, auditorium, lawn for study, Well hygienic canteens, etc.
 

Academics Rating
I chose computer science B.Tech because I wanted to gain tech knowledge. The course provides both technical and practical knowledge with detailed theoretical concepts. The difficulty level of exams is medium. Exams are conducted regularly like Unit or CAT tests. After 5 month Final exams are held for each and every semester with internal and external assessments. The admission process is straightforward. You will easily get admission on 12th marks obtained or diploma marks for B.Tech in computer science and engineering.
For each year of B.Tech you have to pay Rs. 1,35,000 and it is constant for each year. If you pay it earlier you will get some discount on the fee and if you pay it the fee late then you will not be allowed to sit in exam without permission of principles and HOD's. Do not have any scholarship for student. Each individual has same fees.
 

Faculty Rating
Currently faculty is changing constantly which needs to be improved. Faculties more focus is on lectures rather than practical sessions which could be improved and well organized. Faculties make good bond with students. They are supportive and helpful. For every 60 student one teacher is there for each subject. For teaching in classroom blackboards, projectors are available. Faculty members arrange group discussions every week and take review from students and also arrange regular tests to improve coding practices.
 

Placement Rating
One placement cell is arranged for entire B.Tech students. The placement team is supportive and helpful but needs to bring more companies in college because numbers of students are increasing gradually. Most of the companies come to campus from Pune and Kolhapur sometimes Mumbai. All rounds are taken and arranged by company in college itself.
 

Hostel Rating
SGU offers best Hostel and hygienic, clean and neat rooms for students. There are about 5 to 6 buildings for hostels. If you are going outside campus then pass is required compulsorily for hostel students. Wardens are not so strict. Hostel fee is Rs. 50,000 per year. For hostel students more amenities are provided like local mart near hostel, ATM, Cafes, Gym, Canteens, etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
SGU has modern academic blocks. The campus is spread over large area. It has big lake and each department has different building, common large canteen, Lawn, sitting area, auditorium, library, etc. The classrooms are spacious equipped with good enough benches and furniture. The library is well stocked with books. The campus has seminar hall, big conference room, etc. The transport facility is there for various local cities. Sports and cultural activities are arranged periodically.
 

Campus Rating
One of the best campus among all the colleges in Kolhapur city. College crowd is too much but still feels less because of large area. Every month technical fest, events, proper awards and prizes are arranged for the same. The campus has almost each and every facility needed by you in day to day life. The faculty is friendly. For annual events celebrities are invited. In every event the cars collection is just amazing. Campus life has been very positive offering a great mix of academics, activities and social events.
