REVA University Bangalore: NAAC A+ Accredited Institution

My experience at REVA University is good. It is a NAAC A+ accredited university and offers high quality education across different domains. It has 2nd cleanest campus in India which is recognised by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

My course is Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science & Engineering which includes IoT, Block-Chain, and Cyber Security. I chose this branch because I was inspired by my sibling, who is also a software engineer. The eligibility criteria for admission in this is university is passing 12th class with minimum 60% marks or qualifying various entrance exams such as KCET and REVACET. The admission process is easy. The university conducts 3 examinations per semester.

The tuition fee for my course is Rs. 5,00,000 per year. Students are provided scholarship on the basis of their qualifying exam score. I qualified REVACET so I received a scholarship of Rs. 40,000 per year. Therefore, my tuition fee is around 4,60,000 per year. Everything is included in this fee except examination fee which is Rs. 3,000 per semester. Students who have participated in National level sports events get 100% tuition fee sponsorship from the university.

My experience and bonding with the faculty members is very good because they are very polite & helpful. Their problem solving abilities are brilliant. If you go to the faculty with any academic problem they will try their best to help you. Many faculty members are from South India but they ensure that they interact with every student in the language in which he/she is comfortable. Their mode of teaching includes blackboards and PPTs. Group discussions are also conducted every week the faculty. The teacher student ratio is 1 teacher in normal classroom and 4 teachers in lab for 30 students.

Students are provided placement support from the third year and students are trained for their final year placements. Placement activities are conducted every year which includes mock interviews and tests. Last year the highest package was 37 LPA for Mechanical branch and the placement percentage was 95%. This year the highest package was around 40 LPA for CSE branch and around 95% students got placed. Many renowned companies like Amazon, TCS, Flipchart, Swiggy, Zomato, etc. visit the university for recruitment purposes.

REVA University offers residential facilities for male and female students separately. It has 4 boys’ hostels, 3 girls’ hostel and 1 premium hostel. The annual fee of 4 sharing room is Rs. 1,55,000, for 3 sharing it is Rs. 1,70,000 for 2 sharing it is around Rs. 3,00,000, and for single seating it is around Rs. 4,50,000. The hostel has laundry services. The mess food is good in quality and quantity. It serves different type of menu every week and organises a grand dinner at the end of the month. Hostel timing is from 7:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M, after which students have to register their details and their parents get notified for going outside the premises. My personal experience at the hostel is good. The wardens are a little bit strict because most of them are retired from Indian Armed Forces.

There are 3 main blocks with 1 administrative block and 1 science block. Each building has lift service available. The campus is on 45 acres which includes 6 acres for parking. The seating capacity of the classrooms is around 60. There is a separate library building which has 4 floors and has a large selection of books & journals. The university has 6 to 7 seminar halls along with an auditorium. There is a food court which offers a wide range of food options including vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. There is a sports department with various sports facilities. There are around 50 to 60 buses available for day scholar students and faculty members. My favourite part of the infrastructure is the library building which is covered with the glass and surrounded by lush greenery.

My overall campus life is very good and the campus has a crowd of around 10,000 students. There are many clubs and events are organised every month. This includes hackathons, sports competitions, and many more. Festivals like Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi are celebrated.
