JSS Noida: Campus Life, Clubs, and Student Community

JSS Noida is a college in sector 62 Noida. The location of the college is good. Actually there are many companies near to the college and it helps during placements. The college has courses like B.Tech, B. Pharm, MCA, etc. The infrastructure of the college is quite good. One of the best planned college of this region in those terms. I was a B.Tech student so I can tell about B.Tech. The admission criteria for the college earlier used to be JEE main or UPSEE counseling but recently they have started parallel courses for their own University as well. Earlier majority students were from counseling but since they have started their own University as well majority of students are direct admitted in those sections. Faculty is average like any other engineering college. Some are supportive others are not. The most important aspect which is placements is that it has got decent placements. All the hardworking students get placed at moderate packages. The average package would fall around 4-5 LPA.

I chose Information Technology, B.Tech. The criteria was JEE Main rank but nowadays you have both choices e.g. Direct admission as well as JEE marks. You have to apply for UPSEE counseling and then college will be allot accordingly. Semester exams are conducted twice a year and internal exams are conducted once in a month and half Academics subjects are good but you got to study on your own.

The fee for my batch was Rs. 1,19,850 but for new batches it is around 2 Lakh. If you have a good rank in JEE you can get a fee waiver seat in which you just have to pay some 7k a year. You can also secure University scholarships from the government if you take admission through University counseling.

Faculty is mixed. There are some very supportive faculties while others are average. Generally the IT department has the best faculty and core branches faculty are most tough. Overall no faculty will cause you much problems. There are some smart classes. My experience was good in the class. There were some really good faculties who taught us like DSA teachers who actually helped us in placements. Maintain good relations with your faculty.

The placement cell of JSS Noida is in Academic building 5. It is a good team. Though some will say they are rude but they too are busy with placements. You must regularly visit them. Some good companies which visit are Adobe, Ion, JoshTech, Deloitte, etc. My placement experience was smooth. I got placed in the first company I sat for but then I was blocked from the placements because college changed policy to 1 offer per student.

College has two separate hostels Normal Hostel and an ISH. ISH costs around 1.4 L and is a bit premium. Normal hostel fees is around 1 Lakh, it is standard but good to live in. Mess Food is same as any other mess. It's eatable. Girls and boys hostels are separate. Girls hostel closes at 9 pm.

Infra of the college is quite good. It has 5 academic buildings and 1 pharmacy building. College has a great Library where you can study from 8 am in the morning to 8 pm in the evening. Campus is spread in around 28 acres. It is in sector 62 Noida. Around college you can also find private hostels with all kinds of pay range. Classrooms are spacious and big consisting of around 70 students per room.

My overall campus life was fabulous. The best 4 years of my life. These years made me a different person. The college is crowd is generally chill but if you are passionate and hardworking you will find people like you here. There are many clubs in college. There are 3 best for programming GDSC, MMIL, NCS and others are for dance, arts, debate, robotics, etc.
