VITEEE and Admission Process at VIT Chennai

Overall experience I had in VIT University till date is very good because the university provides as a lot of opportunities to explore ourselves as well as allows us to know other people from diverse cultures that we meet inside the university. This university provides lots of opportunities for internships and placements because of its very strong relation with different companies throughout the world. I choose VIT University because it is a very good university and had a very good ranking on the internet. Also, few of my relatives and cousins were in this university so they had a very positive attitude towards the university. It is very different from other institutes or universities because it provides an environment in which we can grow and build ourselves with a very good and positive attitude. I have made a lot of friends who are from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year also.

The course that I choose is Electrical and Electronics Engineering because of my interest in the electrical department. I want to explore this field that's why I choose this course in VIT University because they have a lot of facilities for electrical department so I can explore more in the laboratories and get to know what it is like to work in real life in the field of my interest. An entry and eligibility criterion of this university is that we have to give an entrance exam named by VITEEE. Once we clear this exam we have to wait for the results and after that we go through counselling and university admission procedure and this is the whole procedure for taking admission here. Admission process of VIT University is very easy as once we clear the exams it's just one ticket away from the university. The frequency of exams in this particular course is that we have to give exams on monthly basis with two mid sems examinations and one semester-end examination with lab examination, multiple assignments, lab records, etc. The academics here prepare us for the real life because it's a very futuristic branch and my university also is very good in letting us know the future of different fields.

The fee of my chosen course is Rs. 14,52,320 which is distributed in equal parts for the 4 years. The fee includes the tuition fees, mess fees, hostel fees, registration fees, and all the other fees are included in the above stated amount which is Rs. 14,52,320. Special discounts are not allowed but if we score a good rank in the entrance exam we can get scholarships in which the tuition fee is waved off but this is totally based on our success in the intern’s examinations. A scholarship as mentioned is only for the people who have scored well in the entrance examination and financial aid is allowed to those students whose financial conditions are not that good.

We have a very good set of faculties in VIT University with each having Ph.D level degrees and they are very good in clearing our doubts with very interactive sessions. The department that I choose has very good faculties with good amount of knowledge. Teachers have different methods of teaching with few teachers teaching us on blackboards and few using PowerPoint presentations & group discussions which provide an interactive way to study so that we can get the knowledge of our course in different manner which is very effective for us. The student teacher ratio is also very good as we can get one on one interactive sessions with them very easily and because of which we can easily help ourselves in our academic and the problem solving abilities of the faculties are very good as they know how to deal with the students and the problems that we face in our academics. They are very good at their job. My experience and bonding with the faculty member at VIT University is very good because each faculty member motivates us to work hard on ourselves. We also don't hesitate in approaching them with our problems as they are very welcoming and they know how to clear our doubts. So, the overall experience with my faculty is also very good.

The placements of VIT University are also very good. It provides world class facilities to us and also the internships opportunities that the university provides us are very good. We can avail the internship opportunities in the second year and we can sit in the placements in the third year. The placement cell of VIT University is also very good as they provide very good opportunities to us from various reputed organisations. They have a very good relationship with the HRs of the companies as they help us in getting jobs very easily. The placement cell is filled with all those people who care about the future of the students. We are provided with email initially and then we are provided with exams that we have to sit in and then we get to know about the placements. Also, the highest package offered in my university was around 1 crore and the average packages was around 8 to 10 lakh which is a very decent package for now a days. We are also provided with the surety that if we work hard on ourselves we can get very good placement offers.

The hostel facilities provided by the university are very good. We have very good accommodation facilities with very friendly roommates with the option of 2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed and 6 bed rooms with air conditioned and non air conditioning systems. We can choose any of them on our own. Girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. The hostel mess is very hygienic with four times meals a day providing us a complete meal and a balanced diet for a healthy lifestyle. The hostel has certain rules and timings. We have to get inside our hostel around 9 and inside our campus around 6 in the evening.

Infrastructure of VIT University is very good with 3 to 4 academic blocks and around 5 hostels belt till now, providing us a very special and good infrastructure. The classrooms are also very good with library, seminar hall, auditorium, and conference hall. Everything is very good here. The canteen is also very good. The other facilities that we are provided with, such as medical, transport and security facilities are also good here. The overall environment of the university and its surroundings are very good.

Overall my campus life is very good because I get to know a lot of people in the university who are from diverse cultures and religions. My roommates are also from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Delhi which gives me a lot of time to make a good bond with them so that I can also know other cultures as well. The university crowd is also very good and I can literally talk to anyone because they all are very friendly with each other. There are a lot of active clubs conducting lots of events which keep us engaged and entertained. There are lots of events going on in our university and we can participate in the fest of our choice.
