Admissions and Courses at GEC Gandhinagar

There has been excellent experience at the Government Engineering University as the bonding made with friends and faculties remained till the end of life. I had chosen this University because it is based in the market of Gandhinagar and the students can reach their easily via public transportation. Along with it, the placement experience and the education provided by the University are very good and it has good reputation in the market. Therefore many companies are visiting University for placement. This made me choose this University. All have the main aim of achieving good post in the field after completing bachelor so this is possible here. I recommend you to choose this University. Many other University’s students are not getting placement and even companies are not recruiting the fresher’s from some of the Universities.

The course that I chose at Government Engineering University is CSE. As the world is developing with the technologies and I am very fond of learning about how technology works which inspired me to go for this course. The students must pass with the high merit in 12th science (Mathematics {A group}) and have filled ACPC form for applying in any government University. If a student’s merit is in between 2500-4000 rank in Gujarat then only he/she is eligible for admission. The University doesn't have any other admission process. Only the students get admission through ACPC. There is a semester system in this course. Exams are at the end of every 3 months as 2 are the midterm exams conducted by University and 2 are the final GTU exams conducted by University. The academics prepare the students considering the modern technologies and using them to guide them for future. This also prepares them for real-life challenges.

The fee of the entire departments in Government Engineering University remains same as it is government Institute. The education fee is around Rs. 5,000 per year. Rs. 3,000 for education and remaining for exam and other fees. Rs. 3000 is tuition fee and at the time of applying in the ACPC the fee is around Rs. 300. For exam the fee is around 800-1000 per semester depending on the subject in semester. No other fees are charged. The students get scholarship as per their eligibility. Majority of the students are getting MYSY (12,000) and food bill (15,000).

Faculties at Government Engineering University are well educated and trained to teach the students for real-life challenges. Faculties have a very good bonding with the students. They are the one who has been placed here and have cracked GPSC exam and done Ph.D in their respective subjects. Faculties are teaching theory in the class on blackboard and sometimes via presentation. Faculties are expert in solving the problems of the students as they give special 2 lab sessions to learn practical concepts and solve doubts over there. Faculties and students have a very good bonding as they help and motivate students each time in their difficulties. As I mentioned, I like all the faculties because they are helping the students with each and every task.

The placement at Government Engineering University is very good. Companies start visiting the University for hiring from the 7th semester of the course. The students who are eligible for it can participate in each company but once they get selected, then they can't apply for other companies. No special activities are conducted for it. As faculty provides information regarding it during lectures. TCS, Tatvasoft, Odoo and many other companies are visiting. As of 2024, highest package is 12 lakh per annum and lowest is between 4-6 lakh per annum. I haven't yet got placed as I will in 2025.

Yes, Government Engineering University has hostel at walking distance from the campus. The rooms are around 70-80 in the hostel and around 200 students can live there. Washrooms are common for all and there are washrooms on each floor. Boys and girls hostel are separate. The canteen is in University campus so for food they have to go to the University which is around (200-300) meter. Many other hotels are there in locality for food. Hostel fees are Rs. 4,000 per year which includes only accommodation. For food and other facilities you have to go by your own. The student’s curfew time is 10 for boys and 8.30 for girls. No, I am not staying in the campus hostel.

The books are not provided to the students. Library is present where students can read these books. Campus is of around 4-5 acres and it is based in the locality of Gandhinagar only. Anyone can reach through public transportation. Classes are well cleaned and approximately 60 students can sit there. Library and labs are also there for each course in their own department. Auditorium is there and it's common for all departments. Seminar rooms are there in each department. Canteen is also there but it only contains snacks. No medical facilities or sports are played in the campus. As campus is covered with trees and gardens, my favorite spot is to sit there and study.

Overall, my campus life of Government Engineering University is excellent and I have got very good relations from here. There is no crowd in the University as it is surrounded by trees and is around 2-3 km away from the city. Yes, Google club- is run by the students of the University but I am not part of it. There are no extracurricular activities organized by University. Only sports festival and days are celebrated once in a year by students themselves. Only sport festival is celebrated which is also organized by students. I have a very good and excellent experience of campus life in University which is unforgettable.
