RGIPT Amethi: Student’s Perception

Overall Rating
RGIPT Amethi is good for Chemical & Petroleum engineering. Since tech branches started few years ago, tech placements are not good. Almost 80% to 90% students were placed. Highest package goes about 25 LPA.
 

Academics Rating
I had chosen IDD branch in this institute. My motive for enrolling in this course was that I would learn AI in this course. Admission is taken through JEE Advanced and if seats remain vacant, admission is taken through JEE Main. There are 3 rounds of counseling and a spot round. Students are given branch based on their choice filling and their rank. In one semester, there is one mid sem and one end sem exam. We prepare for exams few days before it.
The semester academic fee of each branch is Rs. 1,28,500. The mess fee is Rs. 20,000. SC, ST, and PwD students are given scholarship of Rs. 50,000. There is a merit cum scholarship given according to CGPA. There is also NSP and UP government scholarship.
 

Faculty Rating
CSE teachers include Sumit Mishra, Gargi Srivastava, and Akash Yadav. Teachers teach on blackboard. Sometimes they use projectors for teaching PPTs. All teachers solve problems in class. There is TUT session taken for solving students problems. In tech branch, a teacher takes a class of about 120 students. Students are from different branches. Some teachers are supportive and help us to solve our problems.
 

Placement Rating
There is a E-cell in our institute. It contacts with different companies and tells about the students taking part in placements. The companies that visited our institute for placement are HPCL, IOCL, ONGC, and Phonepe. The highest package that I know is 27 LPA and average of 8 Lakh Per Annum.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, students stay in institute hostel. Each student is given a room based on allotment. In each room 2 students live. Girls and boys have separate hostels. Mess food is good. The items in the menu change every few months. The mess fee is Rs. 20,000 per semester. Our hostel is good. Each floor is given a washing machine.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are two academic blocks in our institute. Each block is has upto 4 floors. Our campus size is 47 acres. Our institute is located in village area. In Each classroom, there is A.C. and projector. In each classroom 130 students can sit. Library is situated in academic block. It contains all books related to our syllabus. Each department has its own laboratory. There is a auditorium in our institute. There is a night canteen in our institute. A heath centre and an ambulance. Security is also good.
 

Campus Rating
We are allowed to go out of institute until 8 PM. There are almost 2000 students in our institute. There is a Sports club, music club, and drama club. No, I am not a part of any these. At regular intervals, some sports activity or cultural activity is organized by these clubs. There are 3 fests in our institute. Tech fest: Urjotsav, Cultural fest: Kaltrang, and Sports fest: ‘Energia’. Diwali and Holi are celebrated in our institute by students.

    As a student of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), my experience has been amazing. This institute has more exposure in the energy sector and more number of students joins here in Chemical and Petroleum branch as a first priority.     Overall Rating
    The institute is good. All the students are JEE Main and JEE Advanced qualified. The faculty is well educated. The campus is also beautiful. You will see the majestic statute of Vivekananda at our campus. The campus is situated a little far from Lucknow and near to the Raebareli.     The Institute is good for two core branches that are Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. Tech branches are new here. The major factor for choosing this institute is it is an institute of National importance and its NIRF is 80 this year. The highest placement of petroleum branch is 25 LPA this year in ONGC of one student only. While, two students of tech branch got placed in phone pay.
